Acknowledgment First of all, I would like to express my deepest thank you to my Critical Thinking’s lecturers, Mr Harun and Miss Rajam because being the most dedicated in teaching the subject during my whole semester 2. Not to forget, Mr Harun who not hesitated in answering my doubt and helping me with this term paper. Next, want to thank my family for the support given all these while. Thank you for the encouragement given physically and emotionally. Lastly, I would like to give a special thank you to my beloved friends who are willing to enlighten me throughout the process of finishing up this paper. I want to thank them for sharing their opinions and ideas in order for me to accomplish this term paper.

Abstract The purpose of this term paper is to investigate whether the act of smoking is cause by nature or nurture. Nature here refers to the biological or genetic factor of the individual. Whereas nurture here refers to the environment the individual grow up in. This research is done to prove that smoking is not an act of nature but it is actually the consequence of nurture. This research is done by looking up resources over the internet and the statistics that was done by the scientist upon finding out upon the same question. It is also done by observational method and questionnaire given to random people.
The result of this research was indeed that smoking is highly caused by the environment of the individual.
