Slackers-vs- Overachievers Essay Example
In the workforce there are often two types of employees. You have the over achievers that want to succeed and be successful. Then you have the slackers that just want to show up and get paid. The only thing they have in common is the fact that they both have a job and intend on getting paid.
An overachiever will often be early to work. Whether it’s an hour or just 10 minutes early they are there and ready to work. A lot of times they will even offer to stay late and help out with anything.
However, an under achiever will not be early they will either be on time or even late some days. Under achievers also like to leave early or as soon as their shift is over. Which shows they really would rather not be there.
An overachiever will show in someone’s work as well. They will do each task to the best of their ability until it’s done no matter how long it takes. Most of the time their work will show that they did it to the best of their abilities.
When an underachiever does a task you can tell as well. The work you asked to be done will be done but that’s it nothing more. Sometimes the work you asked to be done won’t be done at all. You will at times hear multiple different excuses trying to explain why the work has not be completed.
You can also tell your working with an over achiever by their attitude. For example, when working with an overachiever they will have pride about what they are doing. It will not only show in their work, it will show in the way they present themselves daily.
However, you will also know when you’re working with an underachiever as well. Just like an overachiever you can tell by their attitude and tedious complaining. Unlike the over achievers they do not take pride in anything they do. So in conclusion, these are just a few differences between the two. Take some time and ask yourself which one you would want working for you. In the end I think everyone has the same answers. You definitely would want someone who wants to

There’s nothing that the teacher can help me with to become more successful. All of my failures are caused by internal problems, things only I can improve on. The only thing that I have to say is something that I think applies to most students. Most students aren’t artists, so when a project involves drawing, go easy on the kids who can’t draw. However, I understand that there this is a clear difference between lack of artistic ability, and lack of effort. Both of which I suffer…

Procrastinators are afraid of making decisions because they may be wrong. Fear of failure causes a person to be stuck unless someone intervenes. It may have something to do with the persons past or they may just want attention. Procrastinators need help with better work habits. Some need help overcoming their fear of failure. Classify Co-Worker Types

When I started to work I was not aware of all the different types of workers. Each co-worker had a different way of doing things and a different personality. I can classify them into four categories because they are the most common, the lazy, the complainer, the talker, and the know-it-all. My first job was at Target, and I encountered the know-it-all that was always telling me how to do things because he had been there longer. I also met the lazy co-worker that made my work harder. My next and current job was at Foot locker, here I faced the complainer. This person complained about the long hours and all the work he had to do. At both my jobs I’ve met a person that is a talker, a lazy, a complainer, and a know-it-all.…

In the United States, then, the importance of punctuality is well established and those who are even a few minutes late for say, a job interview, run the very real risk of losing out to lesser qualified candidates simply because they were unable to find a place to park in time. Similarly, people who are consistently late will be viewed as unreliable by most employers and also run the risk of losing whatever employment they have managed to secure in the first place. In this regard, Corcoran, Danziger, Kalil and Seefeldt (2000) report that, "report that a primary reason…
