July Coupon Promotion Results – Specific Descriptive Statistics

Coupon Promotion Results
As a follow up to my previous memorandum, I have prepared specific descriptive statistics regarding the results of the previous coupon promotion period throughout the month of July.
These descriptive statistics such as the relationship between net sales and descriptive statistics on net sales by various classifications of customers, as well as the descriptive statistics concerning the relationship between age and net sales can help us further understand our target audience and ultimately boost total sales for Pelican Department
Stores. By identifying our mean, median and mode regarding each variable (marital status, type of customer, gender and age), we can further understand the relationships between our variables. Descriptive Statistics on Net Sales:

Both retailers offer a loyalty program; Petco offers Pals Rewards and PetSmart offers PetPerks. Petco’s Pals Rewards program is very simple, yet compelling. Pals Rewards gives shoppers 5% back on every purchase. In addition, Pals Rewards delivers savings through preferred pricing and exclusive discount coupons. Our group performed an analysis of Dollar General’s external and internal environment, which included a Porters Five Forces breakdown. Those findings as well as analysis on the company’s financial statements formed the basis for our recommendations. We considered several alternative growth strategies for Dollar General to implement. Those strategies are, international expansion, continued domestic expansion, internal improvements, extending services, and taking the company private. We concluded that the most beneficial direction for the company is to go private thereby relieving pressure to meet short-term objectives. We also believe that Dollar General can benefit from increasing domestic expansion and improving its value chain efficiency by upgrading merchandising products. This strategy will allow Dollar General to achieve sustainable long-term growth.…

JC Penney was once a fashion icon to children, young adults, and teens. Beginning in 1913 it currently operates over 1000 stores. Growing up my sister and I waited to go through their catalogue. We would circle everything we wanted. We would even get our hair cut the same way some of their models did. I went as far as crimping my hair because the model had her hair crimped. Every summer before school started my Grandma would take us shopping at Penney’s for new school clothes. This company is near and dear to my heart. However, even though it has been operating for 100 years it has started failing.…
