I. Course Description:
Principles of Marketing introduces you to the essentials of marketing (key concepts, methods of analysis, strategies and tactics) critical to managing profitable customer relationships in today’s dynamic and connected environment.
II. Course Objectives:
Develop a marketing vocabulary.
Acquire knowledge of the major theories in the field.
Explain basic marketing principles.
Have a broader global perspective.
Work as a team to research and present a major project.
Developing the knowledge necessary to prepare a well thought out and complete marketing plan. III. Course Material:
a. Required Texts & Readings:
Principles of Marketing: South Asian Perspective by Kotler, Haque, Agnihotri and Armstrong. 13th Edition, Prentice Hall. Other material will be provided in class as semester progresses.
IV. Course Grading Policy
a. It is the policy of the instructor to grade all student performance through examinations, class participation in discussions, individual and / or team presentations, short or major papers requiring research or analysis, and other appropriate means. Individual discussions of the reading material may be held at the discretion of the instructor.
Major Examinations in the course :
Midterm: Mid 1–week no. 6: February 24- 28, 2014 Mid 2–week no.11: March 31- April 4, 2014
Final Exam: According to the university schedule in 18th week May 19-23, 2014
