THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE
INTRODUCTION:
The Bermuda Triangle is located in the Atlantic Ocean. It is documented that many unexplainable things happen in this area. It causes electronic devices such as compasses and electronic equipment to malfunction. Today I am going to inform you about the Bermuda Triangle and two voyages that took place in it.
Transition Statement: The Bermuda Triangle spreads across 140,000 square miles in the Atlantic Ocean.
I. The Triangle is located between the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico.
A. The Bermuda Triangle is nicknamed the Devil's Triangle.
B. In this triangle, it is said that many things out of the ordinary happen.
T. S.: More than 100 ships and airplanes get lost and mysteriously disappear in this area.
II. One of the most famous disappearances is that of the Naval Air Flight 19.
A. Thirteen Avenger bombers accompanied by Lt. Charles Taylor left the Naval Air Station in Fort Lauderdale on routine mission to practice bombing.
B. As they all were trying to return home, Lt. Robert Cox overheard them trying to communicate over the radio.
1. Lt. Taylor informed Lt. Cox that they were in the Florida Keys, but didn't know how to get back to Fort Lauderdale.
2. Lt. Taylor was actually over the Bahamas not the keys and only proceeded to go further out into the sea.
C. Rescue teams were sent out to find Flight 19.
1. A Martin Mariner failed to make its schedule and did not answer calls.
2. Flight 19 was never found, neither was the Mariner

III. Bruce Gernon, his father, and a friend left the Andros town Airport to fly to Palm Beach.
A. Miami Flight Service reported good weather in the area.
B. Gernon noticed strange clouds.
C. The flight that usually averages seventy five minutes had only taken them 30 minutes.
