I. Introduction of Pepsi-Cola :
Pepsi-Cola is a carbonated beverage that is produced and manufactured by PepsiCo. It is sold in stores, restaurants and from vending machines. The drink was first made in the 1890s by pharmacist Caleb Bradham in New Bern, North Carolina. The brand was trademarked on
June 16, 1903. There have been many Pepsi variants produced over the years since 1903
Pepsi cola is situated is an Industry that is dominator by two Competitors Coca Cola and of course themselves. Although Pepsi and Coke basically go after all consumers who purchase soft drink beverage Coca Cola targets it product at the head of household.
II. Marketing Mix :
Product
The Pepsi-Cola drink contains basic ingredients found in most other similar drinks including carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, colorings, phosphoric acid, caffeine, citric acid and natural flavors. The caffeine free Pepsi-Cola contains the same ingredients but no caffeine.
Price
Peps decides it price on the basis of competition. The best think about the company Pepsi is that it is very flexible and it can come down with the price very quickly. The company is renowned to bring the price down even up to half if needed.
But this risk taking attitude has also earned Pepsi losses. Though lowering the price would attract the customers but it would not help them cover up the cost incurred in production hence causing them losses.
This was the situation earlier but now Pepsi is a full-fledged and growing company. It has covered all its losses and is now growing at a rapid rate population growth as well as the amount of advertising and product innovation taking place in the industry. Given the mature nature of the market, pepsi have resorted to pricing discrimination strategies to maximize the value of consumer demand
