I Am In Winter Holiday And Outside Is Snowing
I am in winter holiday and outside is snowing. In one of the day, me and my brother Gabriel went outside and looked around where some children were making a snowmen and others were sleighing through the snow. The trees were charged with snow and look like silver trees.

I can remember last winter when me and my friends went to the country and made the biggest snow man from our town. The snow was like silk and every time the sun shone it was glittering. The houses were full of this incredible white skin texture which resembled like a big white polar bear. Even if the sun was trying to warm this part of the country, the winter and thus the snow took possession of our lives, invading it with beautiful snow flakes which were constantly falling like diamonds from the grey sky. I remember the feeling that endeavours your soul, a feeling of ease, of peace and happiness. I love winter and all that relates to it.

The Christmas was coming and my family was preparing for it.

The day before Christmas, my mom with my grandmother's help, prepared her Christmas specialties: sarmale (minced pork mixed with rice and spices then rolled up in marinated cabbage leaves), roasted brown chicken, mashed potatoes, cherry sauce and different types of salads. For dessert she made apple pie with lots of cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla ice cream and also, sweet cheesecakes.

Me and my brother are waiting for Santa Clause, who is coming with many presents this year . Christmas is expected very much by children because they like singing carols and receive presents.

Meanwhile, on Christmas Eve, my father brought home, a tall and fabulous Christmas tree and almost suddenly, the fresh scent of green spruce flows all over our house and brings excitement and joy in our hearts. We always place it in our living room, in front of the blue navy colored lathered sofa where me and my brother have to sit and patiently expect the tree to be placed in its

I hated winter, the days were short and the nights were long. The howl of the wind in my ears as it blew hair into my face, making it difficult to concentrate on the environment around me. Snow days are not my favorite; it is either too cold outside or there is too much snow. I always have to plow the snow myself. Another reason why I hate snow is because I am a shoe fanatic. I can never wear nice shoes in the snow or else they will get ruined. Also, you cannot get frostbite from being warm. Who doesn't love to always have their shirt off showing what they got?…

As I glide across the snow feeling the cool crisp wind running through my coat. My dad and I always go up north once a year to go snowmobiling. Preparing for our snowmobile trip took forever. We always over packed and brought everything from sleeping bags, food, clothing, and gas for ourselves and snowmobiles, but when we were finished we hit the road. My dad drove in one truck with the snowmobiles and I drove in another truck hauling our camper for the three hour drive. That year was going to be different I knew it; we got more snow than we had in over 5 years.…

This is where you can go inside and gather a few familiar favorites such as Coal which you may find in a garage beside the grill that has been put away for the season, coal is ideal for making perfect eyes as well the most ideal buttons for our imaginary coat that our snowman will be wearing. The black color sticks out starkly against the snow and is a holiday favorite. A rookie would use stones in this scenario but that makes it seem childish and foolhardy, coal is a necessity if you don’t have any you can make your way to your local hardware store and buy a…

In the day time, a park in winter is inviting to some in the bright sunlight. A bench is used for parents chatting while they watch their children play. It seems like it should have a happy family posing for a holiday card in matching sweaters and hats by the trees. The snow is for snowballs and angels, but after the sun goes down, the white snow is now bitter and icy and the bench deserted. This image portrays a winter…

    Just an Average Snow Day

In grade school, snow days were the absolute best part of the winter months and living in Missouri promised at least a few per year. One particular day in third grade stands out in my mind as the best snow day of all. Any kid could tell you how a snow day begins; waking up at the regular time and groggily recalling the forecast from the night before, we would run to the window and peer out to see the blinding white sight of new snow covering the ground. This image could wake a grade schooler up faster than the smell of cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. After establishing that the forecast had been true I ran straight to my parents room where my brother was already flipping to the news channel. The anxiety waiting for our district to come up left us silent, and I can still feel the racing of my heart as the alphabet brought us closer to the verdict. PARKWAY read clear across the screen and we waited until it scrolled all the way to the top just to confirm we weren’t mistaken. And this was the beginning of the first snow day of the season; I could just feel it was going to be one to remember.…

As far back as I can remember my mother had always made coffee cake. My parents are both teachers so when we would get enough snow to where Anne Arundel County Public Schools would call a snow day, my mother would get up early and make the family coffee cake for breakfast. As a child I remember waking up to the smell of the sweet, spicy treat and knowing that there was no school that day. This would automatically create a felling of over-exuberance just knowing that I did not have to go to school. Secondly, I would be ecstatic knowing that I could play outside in the snow all day. This creates memories of playing with my neighborhood friends and building huge snow people, snow forts and playing commando with snow balls.…

Once grace is said, the feast finally begins. The great table consists of various dishes; Pollock’s do it big. Not one cubic inch of table was left empty. In the center of the table was what we had been drooling over for the past 4 hours, the turkey. The Juicy, tender, perfectly golden browned skin makes this butterball turkey look picture perfect. It was the size of four footballs, an awfully big, bulky, bird. Surrounding the turkey, like the planets orbiting the sun, are the diverse side dishes. Grandma’s finest crunchy green bean casserole, sweet ‘n’ tangy carrot casserole with a crisp corn flake topping, and a heaping mountain of cheesy, creamy, mashed potatoes. The potatoes, a pale-colored mountain of rich, creamy deliciousness, sit next to a sea of boiling gravy. Lastly was the stuffing, which I am not too fond of. Assorted with various items: soft moist bread, chopped meat, hearty vegetables, and different spices.…

My home is in an old neighborhood, so the osmanthus trees in the neighborhood are tall with strong and thick limbs. These osmanthus trees stand straight along the path which is just beside the house, and they spread their branches until they reach each other. When the first raindrop of spring moistened the earth, sleeping lives were roused up. Every day I can find new buds coming out from the branches of the trees, until one day I am surprised by the green outside the window. It is just like that all turns green during one night. Trees become much leafier in summer. The crossing branches make the path a tunnel, and the cool shade they provide makes it easier for people in the neighborhood to go through summer. During fall, osmanthus trees beside the house are in blossom, and the aroma is so sweet that I almost become addicted to it. Every time when I smell the aroma, I feel peaceful inside my heart and find it easier to put my mind on my work. Then winter arrives. I always think that a winter without snow is not actually a winter. Snow is indispensable during winter. When there are no leaves left on the osmanthus trees, snow becomes the only coat for them to go through the winter. These osmanthus trees are so sweet not only because they smell sweet, but also because they record the growth of lives through a year and provide me with wonderful views of different seasons.…
