What are the different styles and stages of learning that allows teachers to determine the most appropriate teaching methods for their students? There are three different learning styles they are auditory, tactile slash kinesthetic, and visual. The word auditory means learn by listening or hearing. The words tactile slash kinesthetic means learn by hands-on. The word visual is self explanatory meaning learn by seeing something. These different styles are how people learn and retain information. There are four different learning stages they are sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete-operational, and formal-operational. Sensorimotor refers to age group birth to 2 years old. Preoperational refers to age group 2 to 7 years old. Concrete-operational refers to age group 7 to 12 years old. Formal-operational refers to age group 12 years old to adulthood. By knowing the different age groups will help understand what the different stages of learning are. These different stages help to determine what age appropriate is and the thought process. The different stages and styles of learning is very valuable information for a teacher to know and gain a full understanding of because this will help guide them to become better teachers. Understanding the different styles and stages of learning allows teachers to determine the most appropriate teaching methods for their students. There are three different learning styles they are auditory, tactile slash kinesthetic, and visual learners. What is meant by learning styles is the way people learn or retain information taught to them. Auditory learners learn by listening or by having something dictated to them. Some characteristic traits of an auditory learner are reading out loud, ability to follow verbal directions, like doing speeches or being on stage in front of a group of people, and very talkative. Auditory learners learn best by sound. This means they learn best by dictations, lectures, or group activities or discussions.

First of all, visual learning strategies include looking at pictures, postures, slides, diagrams, graphs, flow charts, and underlining and highlighting the key words during learning.
