2. Custom Human Physiology Lab Manual, 4th ed., 2010 (incl. Physio-Ex, ver. 9 CD)
Course Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: BIOL 250 with a grade of C or better, or equivalent; CHEM 192, 210 or 410 with a grade of C or better or equivalent; and completion or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 100 or equivalent; and completion of or concurrent enrollment in MATH 120 or equivalent. Transfer Credit: UC, CSU (B2, B3)
Course Recommended:
Eligibility for ENGL 846 or ESOL 400, or equivalent.
Course Description:
Students learn through lecture and laboratory experiences how the organ systems function in maintaining homeostasis – regulating change and growth processes in humans. Biology 260 is a 5-unit, one-semester course in human physiology recommended for students in allied health areas such as nursing, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, and related fields such as physical education and psychology. This course is an elective for pre-dental, and pre-medical students.
The lab portion of the course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience of the material presented in lecture and the text. You should be able to succeed by attending lectures, making full use of your lab time, taking detailed notes, reading the textbook and lab manual, preparing for examinations, and seeking assistance from the instructor and
