In 1915 Frederick Winslow Taylor gave a revolutionary speech. The speech was called, “The Principles of Scientific Management” and this was when Taylor introduced the world to a new way to look at a workplace (Blake & Moseley, 2011). The theories and practices that were mentioned in his speech have had a vast affect in the 21st century workplace (Hudson, 2004). The speech provided a new perspective to the workplace by improving the efficiency of the working class man (Blake & Moseley, 2011). The theory highlighted that companies could use simple training techniques so that workers could focus on one task, which would run the business more efficiently (Berdayes, 2002). Taylor’s theory has had a positive impact on the 21st century for companies such as Harvard University, Toyota and McDonalds Fast Food. However the theory hasn’t always been successful in all businesses, especially for different call centres and the company Apple Inc.…

I have a one of a kind product that I want to put out into the global market but I do not have the money it takes to put this product to the level it needs to be. I could be the sole proprietorship, where I have a nonincorporated business entirely owned by one person but I may need investors to perform this task. The profits I have acquired have exceeded expectations and I am currently on back order most of the time because I cannot manufacture the product fast enough. I do not have the resources it will take to get this product where it needs to be and where it is heading. I need to issue stock certificates of the business ownership which is called joint- stock company, in order for my product to be useful, productive, and to generate profits. This is one of the most important questions that will be asked by my investors is “will this product generate profits”? Yes, it will. Between the reports of profits that have already been generated and the limited liability, obtaining investors should not be a problem.…

Business is a pattern of complex operations in the lives of people concerning all those functions that govern the production, distribution, and the sale of goods and services for the benefit of the buyer and the profit of the seller (Funk & Wagnalls, 1993). Entrepreneurs who start and manage businesses do so for successful profits. In any capitalist economy, businesses play an important role. Businesses are the major providers of employment, goods and services, and as a result of supply and demand, the major drivers of economic growth in an economy. When significant usage of the factors of production such as natural resources, capital, human resources, and entrepreneurship is achieved to their maximum objectives, more profits are made (McGowan, 2012). Therefore, an increase in capital is made from each business for the economy. This process enriches and stimulates the economy with a better standard of living for its people in the nation. Businesses provide people with more opportunities, choices, and freedoms to enjoy their lives without having to produce all goods and services on their own like growing on own food or making our own clothes. The role that business plays in the economy consists of a multitude of things. There must be a market in which allows buyers and sellers to discover information about one another to complete voluntary exchanges of goods and services. Second, the business needs to trade or offer something of economic value such as a good, service, information or money exchanged between two entities. Business is the management and coordination of individuals and resources to accomplish certain production goals, usually for the purpose of making a profit. The combination of these three intricate parts of business within the economy, the consumer will experience an increased standard of living.…
