Big Cities vs Small Towns Essay Example
Living in the big city or in the small town

Different kinds of people have different tastes as where to live. There are two basic choices for a place to live: in a small town or in a big city. This question arises especially when renting prices begin to increase higher with every passing day. In my general view, I would like to categorize these aspects into convenience, entertainment and air pollution. Even though there are advantages and disadvantages of both, I base my preference on the fact that big cities are more convenient and more chances to experiences culture events and entertainments than small towns.

The first point is comfort and convenience. Big cities provide good education system. In fact, most of the famous universities and excellent colleges and foreign language schools are located in the city. So when we live here, we have a lot of chances to study further with professional methods. We can also attend night classes in order to improve our knowledge and skills. However, in a big city, the education also faces some challenges such as: rising dropout status, increasing school violence, and overcrowding in some school which have good quality. In addition, children who grow up in big cities have not enough time or have very little time to rest, because study pressure is very high. Aside from the good things above, these challenges influence quality of the education in big cities. Cities also provide ample medical facilities. In every city, there are good hospitals in which the poor get free medicines and treatment. Many well-qualified private doctors are also there to serve the sick and the suffering compared with lack of such medical arrangement in the small towns. Clearly, in this situation big cities are chosen more often than the small towns from this aspect.

The second point I would like to compare is entertainments. Big cities provide many fine opportunities for amusement and recreation. In every city there are a

It is a well-known fact that the world is becoming increasingly urbanized. In almost every country in the world the trend has been for more and more people to move from small towns to larger cities. Although there are certain aspects of living in small town that I would appreciate such as clean air and less noise, however the urbanizing trend pretty much reflects my own preference for living in a big city rather than in a small town, because in my opinion the place one lives in plays more important role in one’s life in terms of wider range of opportunities. I think the education and career opportunities are the most prominent among them.…
