A Prank on My Mother

Narrative Essay

A prank on my Mother It was around the time I was fourteen years old. I decided to pull a prank on my mother. I was supposed to go to the movies, but to her surprise when she returned home, I was still there. I had gotten permission to go to the movies with some friends one summer afternoon. My mother needed to go to the store and pick up my father from work. My ride was on the way, so I stayed to wait on them. I don’t recall where my sisters were at the time, so I was home alone. I sat in my room listening to music, waiting patiently for my ride to come. It seemed to be taking them forever. “Where are they,” I kept thinking. They should be here by now. I got tired of listening to music, so I went outside. Our house was on top of a hill, so I could see the road below and be able to see my ride coming. I shot a few hoops, and I would walk to the edge of our yard and stare down the road, but saw nothing. Dang, did they get lost? It’s not that hard to find my house. Finally, I saw a vehicle coming. It’s about time, I thought. We’re going to be late to the movie and what would you guess? It wasn’t my ride, it was my mom. I was so bored that I decided to hide behind the door in my house and scare my mom as she came in. She wouldn’t expect it since I was supposed to be gone. So I ran inside and hid. I stood far in the corner so that she wouldn’t see me as she walked to the door. I couldn’t wait to see her reaction since every little thing seemed to scare her. Then I heard the car door shut. The key hit the lock, and she opened the door. As she walked in, I jumped out and screamed. She dropped everything she was carrying and screamed too. As she turned around, she threw a punch but stopped before she hit me when she realized it was just I. Needless to say, she slapped me anyway. I couldn’t help but laugh at her. If you would have been there to see the look on her face, you would have laughed too.

I just grabbed my phone to see who it was, and then all the sudden Carrie was screaming. I looked up, but I couldn't swerve out of the way of the semi truck in time.…

My mom leaned down and kissed my cheek, she told me to have a good day and reassured me we would get ice cream together after school. As my mom started to walk away my tantrum began. I could not fathom being away from my mom for an entire day! Tears began stinging my eyes as my mom’s figure faded into the distance. My classmates’ figures began to blur as tears spewed down my face and into my open, screaming mouth. The taste of salt from my tears only fueled the fire that began burning inside of me and intensified my…

The story started when one night I snuck out of my house to go to a party, as a result, that night I slept over at a friend’s house and found a ride home the next morning. When the car pulled into the driveway the morning after, I thanked the driver and walked up to my front porch with a sly smile to greet my obviously frustrated parents. As my mom ushered me to sit down on one of the chairs on our front porch, I know that nothing good is going to…

I felt a fire starting up inside of me. My mom thinks I am a baby and can't handle things on my own. I felt adrenaline hit me like a mad bull. " I am a big boy I can handle anything," I angrily shouted. I got my moms big mirror, and with all my strength I tried to carry it up to our apartment. One of my shoes were untied, and I was beginning to lose my balance, my mom's mirrored weight about 25 pounds and were about 4 feet wide and 4 feet long. For a small skinny guy like me, that was pretty big and heavy to carry all the way to the apartment. Eventually, I lost all my balance and fell the stairs. I was able to stop myself by holding on to the ramp, but as I held on to the ramp, I quickly noticed I had let go of my mom's mirror. That mirror flew down the stairs, and once it hit the ground, it immediately shattered like all how my behind was going be after she was done with giving me whoopings. My mother saw the whole event happen before her eyes. I didn't even want to look at her facial expression, I already knew what was coming for me, I held my butt tight and was praying that I would still have a tail left over when she was through with…

I really thought I was gonna get the lady for her purse but I failed. I was so scared I didn’t know what was gonna happen to me. Was she gonna hurt me? Put me in jail? Instead, she kicked me right in my sitter of my blue jeans. Then she picked me up by my shirt a shook me till I couldn’t take it anymore. At that point in time, I regretted what I did and shouldn’t have taken the situation that far. But what scared me the most was when the women said, “ Pick up my pocketbook, boy, and give it here.” She didn’t release me but she bent down enough to allow me to pick up the purse. Then she started to drag me up the street. I’m only a frail little boy but she didn’t care not one bit. At last, we made it to her home but she still had a very tight grip on me.…

I said I'm not going back to school. You can do what you want to do, but I'm not going back to chool," she said. "So shut up." It was the first time she ever told me to shut up. It sounded terrible. God, it sounded terrible. It sounded worse than swearing. She still wouldn't look at me either, and every time I sort of put my hand on her shoulder or something, she wouldn't let me. "Listen, do you want to go for a walk?" I asked her. "Do you want to take a walk down to the zoo? If I let you not go back to school this afternoon and go for walk, will you cut out this crazy stuff?" She wouldn't answer me, so I said it over again. "If I let you skip school this afternoon and go for a little walk, will you cut out the crazy stuff? Will you go back to school tomorrow like a good girl?" "I may and I may not," she said. Then she ran right the hell across the street, without even looking to see if any cars were coming. She's a madman sometimes. I didn't follow her, though. I knew she'd follow me, so I started walking downtown toward the zoo, on the park side of the street, and she started walking downtown on the other goddam side of the street, She wouldn't look over at me at all, but I could tell she was probably watching me out of the corner of her crazy eye to see where I was going and all. Anyway, we kept walking that way all the way to the zoo. The only thing that bothered me was when a double-decker bus came along because then I couldn't see across the street and I couldn't see where the hell she was. But when we got to the zoo, I yelled over to her, "Phoebe! I'm going in the zoo! C'mon, now!" She wouldn't look at me, but I could tell she heard me, and when I started down the steps to the zoo I turned around and saw she was crossing the street and following me and all. There weren't too many people in the zoo because it was sort of a lousy day, but there were a few around the sea lions' swimming pool and all. I started to go by but old Phoebe stopped and made out she…

One warm summer day my family was frantically rushing to gather all our belongings for a week long adventure out west. We were trying our best to squeeze every item in the car; finally we were ready to depart from home. I was just fourteen years of age at the time and had never been more than a few states away. The ride there was beyond exciting, but extra long. I believe most of that was due to the anticipation of when we would finally reach the great state of Colorado.…

My mom and I were running late. Not like it was anything new. We were supposed to be in Moulton no later than 5:30, and now it was closer to 6:00. We finally pulled into the apartment complex, where we were supposed to meet this guy, at a little after 6:00. After searching for this guy for a few minutes[->0] and a few phone calls, we assumed that we had missed him. "See Mom, you should have gotten off of work early," I said just as I saw the guy pull into the parking lot. "Hey are you ready to move into your apartment?" asked the guy. After a few minutes of struggling to get the furniture into the apartment, I figured it was the end of the adventure. A few weeks[->1] later, after getting home from work, my mom was telling me that I would never guess who had called her earlier in the day. Not being in a great mood, I just shrugged my shoulders as to suggest that I didn't really care. Then she asked me if I remembered the guy who we had met just a few days before. She told me that he had called to ask her if she wanted to go out one night that coming weekend.…
