A Person Whom You Admire
People always have a person whom they enormously admire and want to be like. Some admire a famous person while others look up to their teachers, father, or mother, etc. To me, I admire my older sister not only because of who she is but also because of all the things she has done for me. She has changed my life and made me become who I am today. The following reasons will explain why she is admirable and important to me.
First of all, my sister is an exquisite student. She studied in a high school for gifted students and was always in top 5% of her class with a GPA ranging from 3.85 to 4.0. She was also the president of the student council, and she played for the school varsity badminton. Even now when studying abroad, she remains an excellent student. She graduated from college with a GPA of 3.95. She is now majoring in chemistry and she wants to become a dental surgeon. In addition, she is a very benevolent person. Whenever her friends do not understand the lesson, she willingly explains it slowly and clearly until they get it. She also has a very beautiful smile, as well as a good communication skill. She always helps other people without thinking of rewards. One time, my sister found a wallet with a lot of money in it. She did not take the money. Instead, she reported the wallet to the police station. When the wallet’s owner came to say thank you and gave her some money as reward. She did not take it and said that it was her responsibility to give the wallet back to them. I learn a lot from the way she treats people around, and her academic excellence inspires me to try my best everyday at school. Moreover, my sister is a wonderful sister. She plays an essential role during my childhood. When I was a little boy, my parents were busy at work, so my sister took care of me most of the time. She taught me everything from how to brush my teeth, how to use a computer, how to play soccer, to how to study effectively. Whenever I could not do my homework, she always

My sister has looked up to me for as long as I can remember. I think that’s normal for a younger sibling to do. I didn’t really think that was the case when I was young, I thought it was just a way my parents would use to get me to behave. I realized as I got older that she would ask me questions about things either in school or life that I might have went through, and that she took my advice seriously.…

Remember the time we convinced the counselors at Purdue swim camp that we were twins? We started up the charade not long after we got there and kept it up for almost the whole week. Even though you aren’t my twin, you are the first person I would pick to be on my team, no matter what. You make it so there is never a dull moment in life. My sister, the painfully abrasive yet equally engaging creature, the one who irritates me to the point of absurdity, is the one who I am closest to in the world. Having a little sister changed my life forever because she has brought happiness to me, has motivated me, and has also been there for me as a best friend. Just because we are family doesn’t mean the relationship we have is perfect, but neither do I take it for granted. My sister is half of me, my secret keeper. She turns my whole world upside down in a matter of minutes, but what sister doesn’t? My sister is the reason I am the person that I am today, outgoing, and I wouldn’t change that for anything.…

Another reason my older sister is my favorite sister is that she is compassionate. She has great sympathy for other people’s suffering. For instance, she often tries to help poor and homeless people by donating food, clothes, money, etc. She used to work as a volunteer for in a school for the blind children in Vietnam. I still remember when I saw her taught those children to read by touching the special characters. She patiently held her students’ hand and instructed them. Although it was not an easy job, her face was always radiant with smiles. She often told me to give what I got, and to feel happy helping others. My sister cares deeply about other people more than herself.…
