A Little Bit of What I See
My Life’s Philosophy

I sometimes find myself walking, I think I always do. It may be in a straight way, a curvy one, a zigzag, or with hills along and oceans to cross and a sky, always with a sky to look up on. This is because I am travelling in this life. And there are times that I run, maybe because I want things to happen fast, or I leap, wishing things weren’t this hard, or I hide, dream, pretend, or even lurk around. And when I do this, I see the road of life always comes in different chapters and scenes and I say they are all awesome! There are also thrilling parts like choosing between paths or of three and four or choosing which is which that might lead to the other side. And sometimes these choices are influenced by my own desires, with what I really needed most or with what are really right. If I can’t make selections, still I am hopeful. If I carry a big load, still I am hopeful. This is because I have a Father who watches me all the time. In this life, I plan to continue whatever is it that I can because I still have time. I will do right things, more of them If I can. I will paint happy faces, touch young hearts and make the road of life colorful. Then I will be filled with happiness and watch my loved ones happy, too. I will make more dreams and reach for them. Someday, I will be lying maybe on a grass and watch the stars twinkling above me. Then I will be so glad and contented. You see, this life is what you make it. But things aren’t going to happen that fast. In the midst of life, you will experience hardships, pain, anger, grief, loneliness and you will have to bear with them. In that way you will be stronger. But sometimes, it takes much of our time, because we linger from the past that we forego of the beautiful flowers and running waters along the road of life. Whether this much can happen, we still need to keep moving, like riding a bicycle, to keep balance. We need to cheer up and say “Father has something for me even better.” It

‘Moving into the world involves different pathways to new experiences’ could be interpreted in many different ways. In The Story of Tom Brennan by JC Burke, Tom experiences different emotions and situations as he attempts to move into the world when his brother Daniel is involved in a tragic car accident. The image by Image Zoo also shows four different pathways leading into the one tree with branches that lead up into the sky. This picture shows the tree of life and how people can take different paths to experiences. I Measure Every Greif I Meet is a poem by Emily Dickinson that shows the strength a person needs to overcome grief in their lives. The strength comes within the individual and their surroundings. All three of these texts show that moving into the world involves different pathways to new experiences shown through different circumstances, problems and views.…

Sometimes we think that our plans must lead down a better road, or that God must not love us enough to protect us from this pain we feel, but God actually uses the painful experiences to further develop our character. Vivian Thomas could have given up when it became too discouraging, but instead he persevered and became an inspiration to many people. During times that are hard, God teaches us more about life, ourselves, and most importantly, about Him. To go on a journey does not necessarily require one to physically move from one place to another. A journey can happen anywhere, and at any time, even if you are not moving. An inner journey is to transcend above the physical and temporal world into a spiritual realm. This enables one to look at life attentively and be alert to the lessons learnt from experience. ‘Of Eurydice’ by Ivan Lalic, ‘Fax X’ by Gwyneth Lewis, ‘Wind in the Willows’ by Kenneth Graham, ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost, ‘The Red Tree’ by Shaun Tan and ‘Baraka’ directed by Ron Fricke are five texts that explore this concept of inner journeys. Collectively they present inner journeys to be inevitable, that they require you to make choices and that they make you ask questions of an ontological nature.…

Our experiences and the way we react to them shape who we become. Dwelling on a particular event will not help us succeed in life; whether the event be positive or negative. “Turn your mind from the ship, child. It is nothing but a rotting carcass in the grass. The carcass has shocked you with its stink and its flies. But you have walked past it, already, and now you must keep walking” (122). There are events in our lives that will shock us and leave us unsure of what to do, or whether we should keep moving on. These thoughts should not hold us back, as the answer is always to keep moving on; the hardest parts do not last.…

Furthermore, when people like Little Bee and I come to our senses, we begin to understand that life is too short to mourn what could have been; rather, just long enough to build a new future with new people and new destinations. “You travel here and you travel there, trying to get out from under the cloud and nothing works, and then one day you realize you've been carrying the weather around with you (Cleave, 168).” In this quotation, Little Bee says that after hard times we as individuals try to continue on with life – trying to live optimistically – yet do not realize that the reason why we are still sad…

Throughout life people take many paths and journeys. Whether those paths are the right ones or wrong ones, the path taken describes oneself as a human being and it explains the past and leads to the future. Some take the path often traveled, but the path less traveled leads to open opportunities and a chance to explore and discover new things. In our own lives, we strive to always pick the best option that best suit us, to enhance our lives and gain knowledge as we trek through the journey we call life. “The trouble is you think you have time” (Buddha). Time is something we take for granted; we always say witty quotes thinking it will prepare us for when time runs out although nothing can prepare us for sudden death. For as long as I can remember I had been around pure genuine love, one couples love story had a great impact on me. My oldest cousin Dustin fell in love at the young age of seven years old, he fell for a beautiful soul named Lindsey. I admired her personality and after years went on I became very close to Lindsey; we were like sisters. On July 18, 2012, my families lives changed forever and so did mine, Lindsey’s father Ricky murdered Lindsey and her mother Darlene. I still remember the day as If it is replaying in the back of my head. There’s often moments where certain smells or sights take me back to this day, it is a hard one to forget.…

I kept myself on pace, past the sidewalk, and down the small hill. My feet shuffled faster, my breathing became heavier. I lowered my arms, lengthened my strides and prayed to God that he would give me strength. My lungs began to scream obscenities, my heart threatened to leave my chest, and I was sure my legs were planning my murder. I started to embrace the pain exploding through my body. I began work among the strains of physical feeling and pushing myself against my mental limitations. Each leaden step burnt my tired muscles and bore into my brain. An undesirable battle presented itself to me. Demands made themselves prevalent in my mind.…

Every day we are given a fresh start; another chance to move forward in our lives and accomplish the things we thrive to achieve day to day. A new day can also liberate us from our past mistakes and provide us with a chance to change our ways. We are all faced with misery and misfortune at points in our lives, some more than others. We must recognize that it is not the burden in itself that shapes who we are, but how well or how poorly we deal with the difficulties. Sometimes misfortunes can be seen in a negative light; because it seems unjust, therefore we response in a negative matter, and become negligent to change. Overcoming tragic events is what truly counts, for we are meant to live happily and in acceptance that there are things that we cannot change. In many cases, individuals seem to feel as though they’ve lost an amount so great that they are unable to free themselves of the pain. This perspective often leads to further suffering. A Temporary Matter by Jhumpa Lahou and Kiss Me by Andrew Pyper demonstrate a loss of identity, negligence towards communication, and eventually leading to the destruction of a relationship.…
