In Flanery O’Connor’s short story “A Good Man is Hard to Find” She depicts this as an all American family is getting ready for a trip to visit Florida. As we look into the story that Flanery O’Connor has written we can definitely see the differences in a man who is of respectable moral fiber that shows proper hospitality and cortices from a man who has an unscrupulous morals deceit and ill intentions. According to “A Good Man is Hard to Find” A southern gentleman would be a man that would be wealthy and courteous. I mention this because we can see the gentlemen traights in Grandmothers story she tells about, Mr. Edgar Atkins Teagarden from Jasper, Georgia, back when she was a younger woman. This man was a kind and thoughtful man, having nothing but good intention for grandmother, wholesome and true. Mr. Teagarden is mentioned to be a gentleman in this story due to the fact that he had money was good looking and able to purchase the finer things. Mr. Teagarden was able to have his own buggy and purchase Coca-Cola stocks; this is why he ended up wealthy before he died. We also look at the innocent and gentle way he was courting the grandmother back when she was a maiden lady. He made his intensions known to us, when he would bring Grandmother a watermelon every Saturday engraved with his initials with a little note E.A.T. Well

Looking at Misfits traights In “A Good Man is Hard to Find” they are of deceit and murder. In this Story we see that the Misfits ill intentions and eluding ways would not be ones of a southern gentleman. In the story there is a group of men who escaped from a Federal Penitentiary and their intentions are to elude the authorities, killing and stealing along their way.
