A Few Funny Incidents of My Life
I thought of penning down my memorable incidents and what could be better way than listing down funny incidents. There are many such incidents in my life (all unintentional at the moment they were happing) but I have chosen only four incidents to share. These incidents are at different point of time and from different areas….with an attempt to show that I am can generate humor from anywhere (this is better way of saying that at times i am equally ignorant in all areas!!). Anyway, I would not take much of your prestigious time but just a gentle request – please don’t think that I am a ‘big’ foolish (actually like everyone I am a ‘bit’ foolish) but at times I am just totally involved in the flow of the things….without realizing that what I am doing is just not required.

Ok to begin with, the first incident is when I was in XII standard, i.e. once upon a time in year 1999. One of my neighbour, Nisha didi asked me for a help. She thought that as I am in reputed school (actually M.P.S., Jaipur is a reputed school!!) and preparing for all national level competitive exams i would be knowing about technology. As didi was from commerce background and having not much knowledge about computers, she asked me how she can check her e-mails, i.e. what all the necessary things required for checking the e-mails. At that time I was not aware of it, so I told her that I would go to any cybercafe and inquire about the things. When I went to a cyber cafe and asked him the required things, he replied that you need address to check the e-mails. I was very happy that how simple the things are and I told him that I knew the address. He took me near to the system and asked my address. As soon as I started telling him the address, first he was angrily looking at me but then he was just laughing at me. Actually, I told him the mailing address (i.e. didi’s home address) rather than e-mail address. Anyway, as was not aware of what is didi’s e-mail address, I just moved away from there but

There are certain kinds of stuff that can’t be avoided, like, for example, a few absolutely embarrassing situations. It all started a few days ago when I needed to move to the post office and pick up something I had ordered. It was around 9:30 a.m when I took the subway and I sat right behind a married couple that were arguing in respect to their relationship, therefore I, unfortunately, overheard everything. Although I realized that they were miserable together . The man was outraged with his wife as long as he had just found out that she had cheated on him, and they were getting louder and louder, in fact, I assume that almost everyone in that subway were able to hear them and that turned in a surely awkward moment for everybody. After that,…

Throughout the past year I have endured several life changing occurances. One of my family members troubled through the treturous stages of cancer and unfortunately has passed at this time. If I have taken anything away from this, it is that family is the most important resource in a persons life. Without those people who tell you that you can, regardless of the circumstances, becoming succesful could be very challenging. After clearing my head, I was able to start thinking of a career choice that would make me enjoy going to work. I encountered an opening at a local CVS/Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician and applied. After being hired, I immediately fell in love with the surroundings, the people, the patient interaction, and the knowledge…

Some of the embarrassing moments in our lives are worth recalling while others are so disgusting that no one would wish to recall or even be associated with them. That day will forever remain in my mind. I can recall with nostalgia an incident, which took place five years ago. Back at home; my parents would me for the good grades I scored in the term papers. On this one occasion, my mom rewarded me with two hundred dollars for the good grades in the end year finals.…

I've only done one exceptional thing in my entire life. It was two months ago but I feel like an eternity passed since that day. I always thought about myself as a person who's impossible to get provoked. I based that opinion on my attitude towards Beca Baker, a girl who was trying to get on my nerves since the first day of high school. She was talking shit about me, pranking me - or at least trying to, she was way too stupid to pull of a successful prank - and making sure other people hated me as much as she did. Of course I could fight her - tell her to fuck off or spread some gross gossip about her but I felt like it would be too much effort. She wasn't as influential as she thought she was so I still had a few friends and was liked at school. I didn't care about Beca.…

On August 18, 2001 my family and I left for a vacation in the Bahamas at the Atlantis Resort. We crammed all of our suitcases inside the car, which of course we had one too many. Before leaving on every vacation, my family has this tradition where we all put our hands on top of each others and yell "We're going to the Atlantis!", or whatever destination we are heading to. Once everyone was ready and situated we headed for the airport.…

Two events that have shaped my life today have been two different ones. From moving from the Hawaiian Islands to the mainland living in a landlocked state that was completely different the island surrounded by water. From the sandy beaches of Maui, to the desert heat of Las Vegas, Nevada. To the loss of my very best friend whom I grew up with. The girl who helped me to see that I had more confidence than I had believed I had. Who would make me stay up later with her because she didn't want to sleep and wanted to talk about life. These two are different in contrast, but to me, they both hold a place in shaping my life.…

When my Uncle Yaakov died, it affected my mother more than it did me, but it was how my mother reacted that impacted me. Once we heard the news that my Uncle Yaakov died in a car crash in Detroit while traveling for the Rebe...my mother let out this long, angstful wail and the wail still rings in my ears to this day. My mother went into a deep depression; she became this whole new person. At age 6, I did not understand why my mother went from taking walks with me, reading the Torah to me, and tucking me into bed at night, to never getting out of bed, never eating, and never speaking to anyone anymore. I would ask my father questions about my mother. “Papa, why…

My fourth listed life event is the epitome of a nonnormative event, which randomly occurred, and was most likely meant to be harmless. This was a very specific incident that would have lasting consequences on my personality type. When I was 15 years old, and even though I had begun drinking and using drugs, I still maintained a very high level in school. One day, I brought home a test from class in which I scored 100% on and showed it to my father. He looked at it, and handed it back to me, and said, “couldn’t you have gotten any extra credit?” While, as an adult, I believe that it was my dad’s way of saying “wow, good job,” all I heard was that nothing is ever good enough and only perfection is acceptable.…

To recollect your memory is to exhume your cold corpse from a marble mausoleum and recite Vespers over the echo of your once beating heart. Oh, your beating heart. On evenings that were too cold or too windy for comfort, I would rest my head on the nape of your neck and embrace your body with my trembling arms. My palm would find your chest and the seismic resonance of your heart would give me that relieving reminder that you were indeed real. There was never a day where you could not satisfy my yearning for company.…

The first norm I decided to us is “WHEN PEOPLE ASK YOU HOW YOU ARE DOING, TELL THEM ABOUT YOUR WHOLE DAY”. I was sitting in library doing my assignment. I then seen a young girl who I haven’t talk to in a while and approached her and said hey. She said hey back as she continue to walk. You could tell she had somewhere to go. I then stopped her and said “How you been?” “I been good how are you doing” She responded. I went on to tell her about and argument me and my mother had that morning that caused me to be late to class. I than went on to talk about the lecture my professor had taught me earlier. The look on her face was priceless I almost burst out laughing. She had looked at me like she wanted to shout shut up. I finally stop talking to her and let her go on about her way she sprinted away you can tell I had made her late for class. I felt so bad but at the same time I was filled with laughter and really glad I chose this norm.…

It is amazing how many things we take for granted. We make plans for the day, and don’t think twice about how those plans can be taken away in the blink of an eye. I never thought as much about it myself, until I faced with the shock, and undeniable truth of my grandfather’s death. I don’t think anyone really thinks about tragedy until they are actually faced with shocking news. Of course at the time I was only 10 years old and the word death has never even crossed my mind even once. I remember I never really liked or even wanted to spend anytime with my grandfather, all he did was scold and punish me. However, I realize I will never be the same because after learning about his life, I regret not even getting to know him before his unfortunate death, just 5 minutes would’ve been enough.…
