A Descriptive Essay of a Family Member
My little sister is an idiot.
She is definitely the devil incarnate herself. Cunning, calculative, witty but annoying. An insufferable know-it-all. Sometimes I couldn't help but wondered how on earth could I be still sane under years of torture she gave me. She has caused our family countless problems since the day she was born. She is bossy, always wanted to manipulate the others. She is nosey too, just couldn't mind her own business. Last fall when we were preparing our winter clothing, she was like “all of you must listen to me and get this and that or else I would torture you all with my scream”. Definitely not a lovely kid at all.
But on the contrary she doesn't look as hideous as her personality is. In face she is quite adorable. With bright brown eyes and silky raven hair, she actually looks like one of those Chinese porcelain doll. Her cheeks are flushed and her eyes wide, always unblinking, giving you a dreamy, almost longing stare. Her lips are twitched into a half smirk, which you would die to smack that off her face, but sometimes creeps into a perfect grin that could make your day.
People said no one was completely evil, and I believe not. That little urchin could be a pain in the arse, but she could also be the reason why you burst into laughter. Two years ago she just got proposed to primary school and had to do that interview thing. I was there with her on that day. It went smoothly at first, but when it came to the question and answer part, I almost couldn't hold back my laughter.
“So, where do you live?”
“At home.”
“......Whereabouts?”
“My home.”
“ Alright. And your birthday?”
“Not yet.”
“Jeez. Fine. What would you do when you're pissed?”
“I go to the toilet and when I am done I glare at the toilet and bark 'EAT MY POOP!' then flush the toilet”
The interviewer quirked an eyebrow, and almost smirked. That girl's answer was wicked.
My little sister can't speak fluent English since she is still a little kid, and this is also one of

There might be communication barrier, because SFBT approaches directly and it might be odd for some culture that value indirect approach to a problem. (Ivey, D’Andrea, Ivey & Morgan, 2002). The character I have chosen from Alice Walker's novel, 'Everyday Use,' is Mama. Mama is a single parent raising two daughters. Mama describes herself as a “large, big-boned woman with rough, man-working hands. She proudly tells of her ability to kill and clean hogs as “mercilessly” as any man. I believe these skills were acquired out of sheer survival and necessity. Mama starts the story recalling the dreams she often has in which she and Dee reunite on a television talk show. In this dream she has described herself almost as if it is the woman that she wished she was for example she states she is “a hundred pounds lighter, her skin like an uncooked barley pancake.” Although she says the way she looks in the dream is the way her daughter would want her to be, I think she longs for that as well.…

1 In the essay "A Brother's Murder," Brent Staples writes about his younger brother, Blake, who took a very different path in life than Staples did. 2 The essay starts with a phone call in which Staples learns that Blake has been murdered, shot six times by a former friend (517). The essay goes on to tell about the conditions in which Blake grew up. The neighborhood in which the brothers lived was violent, and young men grew into dangerous adults. Staples recalls a conversation he overheard there between two Vietnam veterans, in which one of them said how much he preferred to fight with young men from the inner city, who wear "their manhood on their sleeves." They weren't afraid to fight, believing that violence proved they were real men (518).…

Arthur Evans ' Father was an Archeologist, which may have led to Evans ' discoveries. His father also collected, which may have resulted in Arthur a love of archeology. Evans studied at Oxford gaining a degree in Modern History; Arthur then went on to travel northern and eastern Europe. Evans and his wife, Margaret Freeman, visited Greece in 1883 where Evans then met Heinrich Schliemann, an Archeologist who had been excavating Mycenae and Mycenaen sites. After this meeting with Schliemann, Evans then went on to announce that he wanted to broaden the variety of artifacts of history beyond the classical, he wanted it to go to the ancient. This happened after he had gained Keeper of the Ashmolean Museum. However, it was not till 1893, after his wife died prematurely, that Evans would visit and make a discovery. Evans bought the sight at Knossos, planning to excavate the site himself. Again he was unable to start the actual excavation until the 23rd of March 1900 due to the political situation going on at that time. (Alliance For Lifelong Learning)…

I do not remember much of my first day in 7th grade, but the one thought that I can remember clearly is walking to my art class to the first time. The only time beforehand I was allowed to be in the school was 7th grade orientation which was two weeks before school, and gave us a chance to explore the school. I spent the whole time being yelled at by my father because I could not open my locker correctly. Likely the reason being he was yelling at me, as on the first day I opened it just fine. Therefore, I never got the chance to find my classrooms. Luckily, the school has 8th graders get paired up with 7th graders to show them around the first day. I got paired up with a kind 8th grader to show me around school, and automatically I was intrigued by the art classroom. The art classroom itself was positioned in a unique and even artistic way. Instead of turning the corner and having it be a straight-forward door to the classroom; the door was angled to the opposite you’d expect, surrounding the door were bricks and many pieces of art. As the 8th grader looked into the classroom and told me what it was all about I put my hand on a piece of art hanging on the bulletin board. It was thin paper, yet there were so many layers of paint. You could feel the detail itself, there was so much put into it that you could feel it. I’ve never seen anything like it.…

Although sometimes overlooked, family stories are often responsible for powerfully impacting family functioning. Family stories impact health and illness due to individuals’ and families’ frequent, and often subconscious, action of calling upon their personal history as well as their elders’ past experiences, wisdom, guidance and counsel. As providers, it is critical to be mindful of the significance of storytelling, as family stories often have profound effects on the health and wellness of patients and their families…

Have you ever wondered what most influences you to be you ? whether its is family , environment or other attributions . Culture seems to have the most attributions by encouraging someone to embrace their individuality in their family . Heritage is what they are grown up around and family is what they are close to . An individual's family and heritage have the most influence on one’s perspective because those two describe who they are the most . For example family influences these people most in Matrimony with a proper stranger “My parents did the leg work but i was in charge.Thanksgiving a personal history “that left my great grandma and i , both of us where happy to have this time with family.” Heritage is what their family grew with and it’s what they are used to An indian fathers plea , “my son wind wolf is not an empty glass coming into your class to be filled , he is a full basket coming into a different environment with something special to share”…

The word essay derives from the French infinitive essayer, to try or to attempt. The Frenchman (Michel de Montaigne 1533–1592) was the first author to describe his work as essays; he used the term to characterize these as attempts to put his thoughts into writing. Francis Bacon's essays, published in book form in 1597, 1612, and 1625, were the first works in English that described themselves as essays. (Jonson, 1609) first used the word essayist in English, according to the Dictionary. An essay is a piece of writing which is often written from an author's personal point of view. Essays can consist of a number of elements, including: literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author. The definition of an essay is vague, overlapping with those of an article and a short story. Almost all modern essays are written in prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essay.…
