In the third chapter of Rethinking sustainability: A strategic financial model for Christian schools, Dr. Pue clearly conveys the importance of maintaining Biblical principles in the Christian school ministry. This kind of approach it is fundamental for the glorification ofour God through a fruitful educational ministry; Dr. Pue states: “You cannot violate God’s principles in pursuit of God’s purposes and expect God to bless you” (Kindle Loc.567). This simple matter of fact which is so obviously true, it is disregarded so often and neglected so foolishly that the results cannot be other than sad and frightening.…

People nowadays are getting into the “go green” lifestyle while others continue to live without thinking about the effects they have on the environment. Why do people go green? It can save you money, it is the right thing to do, it is healthier because there are less toxins and less illness, it is helping future generations, and it is a chance to connect with the local community and spread the word. To go along with this lifestyle and its benefits, catering companies are pushing to become more environmentally sustainable and have more local and organic food options.…

The University will have to invest a lot of money, time and resources into this idea but the benefits will be ten-fold. This is not only an immediate solution to this problem but also a creation of an idea that expands into something more than just the Faculty of Architecture Building & Planning. The world’s cities are growing quickly in terms of urbanisation, and they will be even more densely populated in the next few decades. The growth of population in cities brings sustainability problems, including environmental, social and economic problems. This report will focus specifically on the Parramatta City Council’s efforts to encourage ‘active travel’ in Parramatta, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales (NSW). Although the literature on active travel is diverse, this paper will primarily focus on cycling, walking and public transport as modes of encouraging active travel to provide background and a basis for assessing the Parramatta City Council’s inactivate. Active travel has the potential to improve the individual’s physical health as well as reduce traffic congestion and pollution. Thus, it represents a worthwhile initiative for overcoming the problems associated with increased urbanisation, now and in the future.…

Raslila has a basic script which has to be followed, but it has enough scope for improvisation as well. Though the emphasis of Raslila is on 'darshan' or the visual appeal, it is important to capture the 'bhava' or the sentiment. This is done through music, dance and drama enacted by the actors.…

This lab converted borneol to camphor using a green oxidation. Sodium hypochlorite was used instead of the less “green” Jones reagent. Borneol was mixed with glacial acetic acid and oxidized with sodium hypochlorite to make crude camphor. The crude camphor was purified by sublimation. The final product was characterized by obtaining a melting point and inferred spectroscopy. The experiment was carried out to see if bleach could oxidize borneol and if it is greener than using a Jones reagent. Sure enough camphor was made with a 4.03 g of unsublimed camphor and 0.08g of pure camphor with a 2 % yield (in moles). No melting point or IR peaks were obtained. However, the literature value of the melting point is 177.0 °C and an IR peak from 1680-1750 cm-1 with no alcohol peak.…

For a long time, forests have offered a great assistance to our country in many aspects: social, economic, and ecological. People gain benefits from the forests, as forests also gain from them. Years have passed and the people became greedy. They come out to take whatever they could before someone else does; not taking into their minds whatever environmental problems may arise. The society is not aware of how the forests have been there to maintain the equilibrium in the environment for they only took into account the economic benefits they could get from it. It is known to all that most individuals have the tendency to learn the importance of an object only if they would experience a dilemma without that object. The people rarely appreciated the ecological benefits provided by the forests, so they continued to be unreasonable until they have been experiencing drastic environmental problems making them realize that the forest resources are not made to last forever.…
