Zoologist Career Research Paper
I haven't decided what I want to do in the future regarding my career. I have narrowed my options down to either a job in art or biology. Recently in the last year, I have been leaning towards biology, and becoming a zoologist. Science has always been one of my favorite classes. I have always loved animals and enjoyed learning about them. . I can get along with almost any animal I meet. So, I can work well with animals. A zoologist studies the behavior, origins, genetics, diseases, physiology, classification, distribution, and life progression of animals. (sokanu). Zoology is an area of systematic biology, which is the scientific study of the types and diversity of organism. (encyclopedia) They can either specialize in a single species or …show more content…
(1. Salary). As a zoologist, I can choose many different jobs. In a zoo, my job would be to observe and to take care of animals directly. Creating educational materials for zoo staff and visitors is something else I can do in a zoo environment. I can oversee wildlife reserves. There I will be doing things such as counting animal populations and/or studying the behavior of certain animals within the reserve. (sokanu) I will not always work in natural settings, though. I will most likely be working in a controlled lab-based environment to study biological aspects of my experiments. (sokanu) Instead, of working in the research field, I can also work as a professor teaching college and university classes. I may write reports, scientific papers, or journal articles, too. (sokanu). I want to be a research zoologist that works in a wildlife reserve and maybe remote areas every so often. To become a zoologist I will require a bachelor's degree for most entry-level jobs If I want to do most research or teaching jobs, I will need to get my master's or PhD. The experience I need before starting a job will be acquired through courses and research done during a degree program.     4.For any industry to even consider employing you you have to have a bachelor’s degree and have to have completed high school with some sort of biology class credits. The more experience you have the easier it will be to find an employer willing to hire, though in order to perform field investigations on your own you would need to have a Masters degree and several years of experience. That would be your best chance at gaining employment, but in order to do higher level investigations or to perform my own lab work you would need to have a Ph. D(Bureau). There are some classes available at Durant High School that would benefit me greatly in the future, such as anatomy, biology and even computer technology classes.
