Your Guide To Beach Safety Leaflet Analysis
Your guide to beach safety is an information leaflet produced by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to raise the community’s awareness to beach safety. It is aimed at people who visit the beach often and adults or teens that do surfboarding, kayaks and other non-powered crafts.
Throughout the leaflet, lot of features have been used to gain the reader’s attention in the advice that is given by RNLI. Firstly, the title “your guide to beach safety” is in the 2nd person singular as it makes the leaflet seem more personal towards the reader. The author uses repetition by using the same word “your” in different sub headings “Your guide to a safe and fun time at the seaside.” Safe and fun do not match together in normal situation , but the effect that it gives is that this leaflet will apparently make fun being safe, the title is also in a craggy font emphasizing the ‘on the beach’ title.
The slogan at the bottom of the page ‘RNLI lifeboats, lifeguards, life first,’ is a rule of three and it uses alliteration; the rule of three is used to make a complete picture of what the RNLI is about and what they do (save …show more content…
