Memorandum Issuing Directives
October 31st, 2010 | Published in Memorandum
A memorandum or letter that aims to issue a directive should be written in a professional, simple, yet courteous manner. The directives contained in the letter/memorandum should be clear and precise. Whether it’s in letter or memorandum format, the correspondence should clearly state the subject matter. Bullets may be used to highlight key points.
A ranking officer issuing the directives need not discuss so many details in the letter. It may be good, though, to clearly indicate any foreseen problem and how it may be solved. A memo or letter issuing directives specifically states how you expect the reader to proceed in order to accomplish certain tasks.
A memorandum or email message may suffice for subordinates coordinating with each other to carry out tasks as part of an activity, or to get updates on routine tasks or assignments.
Here is a memorandum issuing directives, citing specific tasks that need to be undertaken:

Memorandums are written communication among employees of the same company; it resembles letters and e-mails. A writing a memorandum, the writer’s technique depends on the length. The memo will be written in a casual or informal language when the length is short. A professional or formal language is written when the memo length is long (Flatley, Lesikar, & Rentz, p. 96, 2008). The main thing to keep in mind, when writing and formatting a memo, is the audience. The writer knowing the audience will help with what information to keep or remove, whether the memo will be formal or informal, and word choice.…

Several methods of communication exist to efficiently communicate within any organization. In my organization, emails messages are largely used to communication inside and outside of the organization. Although, email is somewhat informal, it is the quickest and most effective method of sending and receiving messages and they can also be considered a formal method of communication, depending on the contents and whether or not there is any formal correspondence attached. Email can involve one-to-one communication, but it also supports one-to-many transmissions in which the same message can be sent to lists of people (Reddick and King, 2001:24). Scheduling conferences and meetings, changing policies and procedures, keeping employees and staff apprised of any changes, and sending and receiving formal documents are just a few of the things email is used for in my organization. Email also works tremendously well when collaborating on a project. However, emails should only be used for quick messages or communication among staff members.…

The article Shouting Across The Divide contains verity of meanings toward discriminations especially for Muslim religion. After listening and reading the radio conversation, it was clear to understand how discriminations has impacted critically to Muslims after 9.11 terror. The interview tells us the story about the Muslim family Serry and Chloe. Serry and her daughter Chloe were born, and have been grown up in the United States of America. Serry was married with a man from West Bank where has been suffering many conflicts of religions among near countries; Israel and Palestinian, and is territory of Palestinian now. Serry and her husband spent precious years together, and foamed a family with four daughters in a small town. There local business was successful as well. The family had pretty good relationships with neighbors and school friends. However, everything changed after 9.11 tragedy. Because of ethnicity, the all member of the whole family had to endure very hard time. Someone broke Serry’s car window, and left terrible memo: “leave the U.S.A.”. On the other hands, Chloe who used to be very popular in her class lost all of her friends because of the terror. Even a textbook in her class contained the crucial phrase that all of Muslims hate Christians and Americans who are considered as an evil by Muslims so all Muslims kill them. Serry’s husband who watched all the pains to his family, began to show deep depression, and wanted to go back to his country. However, Serry refused his offer, and he left alone one day. Eventually, the 9.11 terror, and vandalism has destroyed all the happiness of the family. Shalom Auslander who worked for an advertising company in New York also confessed that there were a lot of discriminative advertisements, and that made him to hate his job.…
