WRITING AT THE END OF THE TIME
RICHARD E. MILLER

Writing at the end of the time is at many levels book full of provocative questions where the humanities are the topical issue with the analyzing of literature arts, colored with great debates over its importance in modern time. This book should serve as guidance for teachers and students involved with humanities.
1) One of the main reading styles analyzed here is the reading style of John Krakauer. The book this writer published – Into the wild - served for spotting the effects of the way how the books you read might influence your life. Here is, of course, the word about McCandless, the main character of Krakauer’s book mentioned. If we considerate Krakauer as a model for the reading the appropriate goals and methods are to form your own opinion over the main person in the book, to get realistic approach to the subject, to think critically about what you read and to have in mind all the circumstances that are carefully narrated over. The reader of Krakauer0s book must follow the personality of the character that left everything I seek for the meaning of life far away from everything and everyone. One of the most important methods for reader is to identify itself with the subject. Krakaure stresses out the importance of the way Mc Candless decided to choose. Once he found his perfect place, the reader is able to feel the harmony in his soul:
“The land itself was desolation, lifeless, without movement, so lone and cold that the spirit of it was not even that of sadness. There was a hint in it of laughter, but of laughter more terrible than any sadness- a laughter that was mirthless as the mile of the Sphinx, a laughter cold as the frost and partaking of the grimness of infallibility. It was the masterful and incommunicable wisdom of eternity laughing at the futility of life and the effort of life. It was the Wild, the savage, frozen-hearted Northland Wild." (Jonh Krakaurer, Into the Wild).

    The relationship between history and literary work is often questioned. There are four main models that have been devised to explain this. The first regards a piece literary work as universal and belonging to no time period. The model states that historical context has no significance in literary texts, and that both should remain autonomous from each other.
