Impetigo is a highly contagious skin condition that is part of the integumentary system. Although it is very rare, adults are susceptible to receiving this infection, however it is most likely seen among young children . This infection is caused by one of two types of bacterial infections: streptococcus and staphylococcus. There are several different types of Impetigo, their symptoms is what sets them apart. The one that is most common among children is called Impetigo Contagiosa or also known as Nonbullous Impetigo. This type starts off as red sores that is similar to insect bites which typically forms around the nose and mouth area and eventually turning into blisters. The blisters are then ruptured, leaving a red rash that crusts over.
