Wound Care Database Paper
This comprehensive database is a valuable resource for not only professionals, but its main aim is for students, faculty, librarians, and researchers. Like main other databases, it has a “mix of scholarly journal articles, reference materials, evidence-based resources.” However, ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health database is unique in that the owner intended the tool to be use in aiding nursing research.
This research tool that offers more than just a selective few journal articles, it has both depth and breadth of information. Upon a brief search for NPWT and moist dressing, the search field immediately populates with suggestions including “negative pressure wound therapy vs. standard wound therapy,” with 166 results from scholarly journals alone. The database provides many peer-reviewed articles related to the topic, which would strengthen the validity of evidences for wound care dressing therapy recommendations.
Web of Science contains over 1 billion citations and allows access to thousands of various journals. It’s specialty is use in citation analysis which can be used to better see how previous research has led to subsequent ideas and articles. In addition to this wide variety of subjects and topics covered, Web of Science cross-references search results across many disciplines, allowing for detailed analysis and from difference scientific areas that one may not otherwise
