The World Wildlife Fund

I. Introduction: As we all should know from our seventh grade history class or a one-hundred level history class here in college, the American Bison were hunted to near extinction in the 19th century. Thanks to organizations like the World Wildlife Fund, millions of animals and thousands of animal species that were near extinction, like the American Bison, are still living today. Through research and my love for animals, I have learned quite a bit about the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and would like to share my love for animals and information about this great organization to others. Some

By letting people know what an endangered species is, and what their habitat currently looks like, they can help restore many of the species to their previous numbers before they became endangered. Most species that are endangered are found in small or unusual habitats. However, species that are dispersed over a larger area, or over more regions survive and thrive better especially through natural disasters, for example. Some of the main goals of the World Wildlife Fund by the year 2020 are to get people from all walks of life and in all kinds of jobs to help protect animals along with their ecosystems as much as possible. Also by strengthening local community efforts in conserving their community and its surrounding area, the World Wildlife Fund hopes to help the efforts of the fifteen most important regions as mentioned above. Another way to help those endangered species is to let markets know about the numerous effects that they have on animal endangerment by producing and selling commodities. So now that I have explained everything about what the World Wildlife Fund actually is, some endangered species, and how you and/or anyone else can help out, we are calling on you to do something about the declining diversity in the animal

In 2011, Deamonte Driver, a 12 year old from Missouri, died after an infection from his molar spread to parts of his brain. He didn’t know that this infection existed, and his family couldn’t send their children to the hospital or the dentist to get it checked. Their Medicaid plan had lapsed, and the family had lost their home. Many children around the U.S. miss their well-child checkups each year. They may have never visited the hospital, even when they’re sick. This is why I have come to convince all of you to donate to my charitable organization, The Children’s Health Fund. Founded in 1987, the Children’s Health Fund provides affordable healthcare to underserved children living in poverty across the U.S. Children are the future of…

Let me ask you, what do you strive for, what do you work for every season, what drives you? Sometimes the answers to these questions get lost within our selves when you’re spending countless hours scouting, placing cameras, trying to find where your next kill will be. Hunting is becoming more of a sport for some, it is extremely competitive and I don't want people to lose sight of what is really important.…

That is the number of dogs and cats killed in Canada every year because they don’t have a home. Would you rather spend thousands of dollars on a pure bred pet, than save the life of an animal in need? It is not only more ethical to adopt animals, but more sensible for a number of reasons. Adopting costs a fraction of buying a pure bred, reduces the number of abusive puppy mills, and limits overpopulation. From my personal experience having a family that has rescued a dog and a cat, I can’t imagine anything more enjoyable and rewarding than the love you will receive from them. If you are thinking about getting a pet, adopt.…

I’d like to begin by quoting Captain Paul Watson, “If you want to know where you would have stood on slavery before the Civil War, don't look at where you stand on slavery today. Look at where you stand on animal rights.” Throughout my presentation I ask that you keep these questions in mind: Is slavery no longer slavery when its not happening to humans? Is abuse not abuse if it isn't happening to your species? And, is murder not considered murder when its not happening to someone like you? If I ask all of you if you love animals, most of you would say yes. Yet its because of people like you that animals like pigs, cows, and chickens suffer and take knives to the neck every second of every minute of every day. Humans have victimized animals so much, that they aren't even considered victims anymore. We have turned living, feeling, breathing beings into inanimate objects such as shoes, and sandwiches. Every year on this planet 60 billion land and 90 billion marine animals are slaughtered without a second thought to feed the greed of humans. In the United States alone, there are more than 5,000 trucks carrying animals to slaughter houses where they will be hung upside down, and while fully conscience, have a bullet put between their eyes or have a knife slash their neck, all in order to feed a group of ungrateful humans who don't even need it for survival. Out of all the abused animals on this planet 98% of them are victims of the meat, egg, and dairy companies. If you consume animals, and the things that come out of animals, you are intentionally causing pain, and suffering. I find it unbelievable how a species that claims to know the difference from right…
