World Trade Center Research Paper
The World Trade Center was and still is a historic site to see in America. The thought of the building the World Trade Center having the Twin Towers would make New York City one of the biggest tourist cities. The idea of making something were that had the concept around “world peace through trade.” was decided to be made in New York in 1939. (History.com Staff) The building of the World Trade Center was like an urban renewal project with places in it all the way to the destruction of it which was one of the most terrific things to happen in America and then reconstruction. In 1959, David Rockefeller had started to promote the idea of a "world trade and finance center.” This had caught many people's attention and for people to talk about …show more content…
On April 1, 2003, the idea was made to make the memorial were the WTC was at and The construction for that did not start until March 13, 2006, because of the damage that was done and had to be cleaned up before it could start. The Memorial plaza Waterfall had the people that were killed on 9/11 inscribed on the outside layer of the Plaza. The first time when the Memorial plaza waterfall lights were illuminated was on August 15, 2011, and on September 11, 2011, had marked the 10th year of the 9/11 attacks and people like President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, President Bush Larry Silverstein and Port Authority officials had gathered to go the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. ("World Trade Center Timeline of History.") The Museum was then not opened to the public till May 21, 2014, when it was finalized. (Timeline of the Rebuilding Effort - World Trade Center.) This shows how much 9/11 had such an impact on the world.
The World Trade Center is history even before and after the devastating day of 9/11. The Twin Towers were one of the tallest buildings in the world and this was a good destination for all tourist to see. But when they were hit and destroyed, it had made history by showcasing the damage that terrorism and Al-Qaeda could do to innocent American people. Just by that first plane hitting the North tower, it had struck the world. It also makes a mark in history by the new tower resembling freedom and how the people in the United states have Freedom.(World Trade Center Timeline of
