Unit title: Develop, implement and promote effective workplace communication.

Even though I was the person who volunteered to go first I felt like it was a huge mistake afterwards. I felt like by going first I’ll be able to finish my interview off & not have to worry about choking myself with anxiety. To begin with I didn’t know the class would have a feedback session after each interview, I know this helped my other class mates a lot because they saw the mistakes that were made by others & they were more prepared when it was their turn to go, if I had known I would have waited and listened to what everyone in the class would say and then taken my turn. Once I finished my interview I knew at once that I have missed some very important elements I should have done. I felt terrible afterward because I knew I could have done better.
I was partnered with Mei and her conflict was ‘an uncooperative team leader’. Even though I was at ease before the interview, I panicked the minute we sat down in front of the class. I knew I couldn’t follow the ‘meet, greet, seat, eat and discreet’ steps properly in order, I welcomed her in and asked her how her day was. Then I told her to have a seat, I knew in my mind that I should ask her if she would like to eat or drink anything but maybe it was the panic, I unknowingly skipped through that. The other important point I couldn’t do was ‘discreet’ it completely slipped my mind to tell her about everything that we talk about will be confidential. I Felt like I did the active listening part as well as I could by reacting to what she was saying to me, for example: nodding my head, making sounds that showed my interest, etc. When she was finished explaining her conflict I asked her some questions about her team leader and about the other team members. Since I was the first interviewer I didn’t know about exploring the conflict and I made the mistake of jumping into finding a resolution as soon as possible. Then I tried to do a
