Work Training Center: A Case Study
I wanted to follow up with Ms. Eartha Frazier’s progress in the Work Training Center. According to our Thursday, June 23, 2016, meeting, the reason the Agency agreed to allow Ms. Fraizer to return to the Work Training Center was to determine the Client’s maximum physical capacity to sit, to stand, or a combination of sitting and standing within one work day. The Counselor wanted to know how may consecutive days the Client can work since Ms. Frazier’s medication regiment has changed to an epidural injection. Secondly, VR staff may want to determine the Client’s workplace accommodations. What are the findings of the Client’s Work Evaluation (WE)? Bonaventure Chiropractic clinic will open soon in Shreveport, Louisiana and I have been hired as the HR Director for this facility. My first task is to perform a job analysis to determine the number of full-time employees this chiropractor will need to adequately run his office in a proficient, patient-friendly, manner. Therefore, it is important for me to examine the tasks performed in clinic, examine the competencies required to perform those tasks, and to form a connection between the tasks and the competencies. Dr. Smith, who is the owner of the clinic, was previously employed at an established, busy Chiropractic office that maintained 4 chiropractors located across town. Fortunately, many of his patients have decided to follow him to…

Jane Doe called me on the phone one day while I was at the Community Center working at the help desk. We set up the initial interview for the following day. The importance of the initial interview is for the personal trainer and the client to assess compatibility, develop goals, and establish a client-trainer agreement. When Jane first arrives for the interview I will provide a description of the services available and that I can provide her. I will explain to her that I am certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as of May 2012 and I have completed an Essentials of Personal Training class for credit at Northern Michigan University. I will explain to her the mission statement of the Community Center (mission statement of NSCA is to unify members and facilitate a professional exchange of ideas in strength development as it relates to the improvements of athletic performance and fitness) unique features to the program, and where and when services are available. I will then need to evaluate her readiness for fitness by assessing her level of motivation and commitment. I will ask her to discuss her past experience with exercise, time management skills, and possible obstacles that would prevent her from meeting with me. I would have her complete an attitudinal…

The worker complained of mismanagement of her return-to-work programme, including inappropriate exposure to the client that had assaulted her, physically unsuitable duties, and poor communication between staff who appeared unaware of her problems and needs. The worker reported constant and moderately severe central lower back pain that radiated up her spine to the dorsal back and down through the groin and core of her thigh on the right only. The report notes no lower limb neurological symptoms, but right knee pain, swelling and clicking and similar symptoms in the left that the worker attributed to overcompensating. The worker reported being significantly physically debilitated because of her aches and pains, and had a reduced tolerance to activities including sitting, standing, walking, and exerting force with her upper limbs. The assessment states that the worker experienced significant limitations in her capacity to undertake domestic chores, and fatigue after work or those limited domestic chores was recurrently reported. The worker reported being able to drive the necessary distances with lumbar support but the stiff suspension of her vehicle provoked back pain. The worker reported poor sleep due to pain and worry. The clinical assessment of the worker's lumbopelvis, lower limbs, neck and shoulder noted no…

However, I value the relationship between doctor and patient as the best advantage. Simply working with the patients and seeing them progress due to their commitment and hard work is a breathtaking experience. In order to build a strong relationship with the patient, I will organize an innovative rehabilitation program that supports their individual goals and needs. The progression between doctor and patient goes hand in hand because as the patient begins to regain working function I can attain the confidence to work with others. Injuries can vary from patient to patient whether rehabilitation can take a short time or it can take quite a while. From my volunteer experience working at Los Feliz Country Villa hospital I observed how physical therapists are so composed and cooperative when working with a patient with major injuries. It takes more than just exercises and rehab to restore the patient’s bodily functioning but it requires trust and cooperation between doctor and patient. The purpose of the rehabilitation is to insure that the patient is able to keep up with the routine such as exercises to promote a steady recovery.…
