Snap Printing, a small chain printing and design business based only in Australia, mainly designs small business logos or advertisements but has a wide range of specialist in website and graphic design.

Workplace procedures
At Snap Printing, a number of procedures are used to train and maintain the safety of their staff. Considering the amount of hours spent operating a computer, an important factor of safety would be posture and taking frequent breaks.
Other less frequent procedures are also important, such as running emergency fire drills or doing a first aid course.

In an office environment, such as Snap Printing, dress code is not as strict, but nonetheless, is still quite important. Wearing enclosed shoes and appropriate protective gear for the situation is vital to ensure safety in the workplace.

Safe Handling of equipment
The equipment used at Snap Printing includes;
Large format printers
Laminators
Trimmers

Although this is only few of the pieces of equipment used, there are numerous safety precautions that need to be taken.

For example, trimmers are very dangerous tools, being extremely sharp; one wrong move could lead to the loss of a finger or severe injury. To be safe around the trimmer, it is advised to never use the tool whilst distracted, only have one person in the workspace of the equipment and have all parts of the body out of the path of the blade.

Risk identification and hazard reduction strategies
Hazards can be anywhere, whether it is from the power cable sprawled across the floor or a machine malfunction causing electrocution. It is always important to keep your workplace free from hazards and risks, the most effective strategies being to look and think, always have an eye out for the cable on the floor or the loose ceiling panel as these could cause harm to you or your co-workers.
