It was in the middle of the afternoon and the local school had come up to the Jay Mountain Church for a field trip. The church had caught on fire during their trip. Two boys hopped out of a T-Bird and rushed over. They tapped a man’s shoulder, asking what was going on. Then they suddenly bolted into the church, breaking the front window. After interviewing the man that they had talked to, he said and quote, “ We overheard someone yelling in the back of the church and those brave kids ran in to save them.” Everyone ran back to the back of the church. Suddenly, the kid with the short, blonde hair lowered all of the kids down and jumped out. The other kid that was in the T-Bird slapped his back because there was fire on the back of his jacket.…
Jonathan, a disabled 12 year old boy passes away in his sleep due to his cerebral palsey. To make it look like Jonathan was not left unattended, they left Donald Rector, a mentally disabled teenager whom lived with them, in the mobile home as well. Donald died in the fire.…

When Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally come back from Dairy Queen to the church they were hiding in, they find it in flames. Despite Dally’s warnings, they, Ponyboy and Johnny run into the burning building to help the children trapped inside. They were trying to be heroes because they felt guilty about leaving the cigarettes in the church, which was the cause of the fire. After the kids were rescued, Johnny was severely burned, later to die and Ponyboy was hurt too. This was because the boys just jumped right in without thinking, even though it was also a good thing, because if they hadn’t the kids could have been hurt, or even…

Peering from offstage I catch a glance of the audience. My heart-racing, I walk on stage with my violin. Deep breath in, deep breath out. I continue to walk to the black velvet chair where I am destined to be and begin to play. Igor Stravinsky's The Firebird. Orchestra Hall is filled with waves of sound as months of preparation and hard work pay off. Echoes of the remnants of the last notes begin to fade, and after a moment of still, dignified silence, Maestro lowers his hands and the thunderous applause ensues. The audience stands on their feet and cheers for it seems like an eternity.…
I overheard Ms. Migdall saying that you do not have enough money to teach both Of Mice and Men and To Kill A Mockingbird. I am writing to you to tell you that there should be no doubt in your minds that To Kill A Mockingbird is the book for your high school students to read. To start, To Kill A Mockingbird touches on many important social issues like racism and sexism and subtly convinces the reader that these are terrible things. To Kill A Mockingbird drew me in and coached me into wanting to fight against the double standards in the 1930’s. I found that while I was reading Of Mice and Men I was not being drawn in by the horrid circumstances, but instead by my dislike of the book.…
Good evening, Parents, teachers, honored guests, and fellow classmate. As Benjamin desereli said, change is inventible and change will always will come. In our case we all knew that graduation was coming and that we are leaving .all of us as students should know that change is always going to come we just have to deal with it.
