Willie Ruffin's Murder Interview Report
On October 7, I contacted Willie Ruffin and advised him he needed to come to the Conyers Police Department in reference a 32’ television being taken. Ruffin advised me that he did not have the TV but was able to retrieve to TV from a friend.
On October 7, I interviewed Willie Ruffin about the 32’ television that had been taken from the Americas best value inn. The interview took place at the Conyers Police Department in a controlled interview environment. I secured my duty weapon in a lock box prior to conducting my interview. The interview was video recorded and the following is a synopsis of the information I obtained during my interview. The video recording should be reviewed to understand the interview in its entirety.
Ruffin was 34 years old at the time of the interview. Ruffin was advised that he was not under arrest and was able to leave anytime during the interview. Ruffin stated he friend Caz asked him to get a hotel room his name because he got in to an argument with his wife. Ruffin agreed and went to the Americas best value inn to obtain a room. I asked Ruffin for the address of Caz and he could not provide it but gave a general direction. The interview was over and Ruffin left the interview to retrieve the TV from his vehicle. Ruffin provided me the 32’ TV and a plastic bag that contain the TV bracket and bolts. When Ruffin retrieved the TV it from a blue vehicle with a black male on the passenger side.
I when to Salem road and attempted to locate the house that Ruffin provided and I was unsuccessful. I call Ruffin and he advised me a residence was not at the location that he provided me. I then asked Ruffin to come to the location and he declined. Ruffin provided me a number for Caz and I made contact. Caz stated that he never was in the hotel room and he was at work all
