Why The United States Should Stop Illegal Immigration
Immigration has been around since the start of this country, but in today’s society immigration has become a problem. The problem is illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is when a person from a foreign country comes to a country that is not their own without any documentation and stays for free illegally. The United States is a key player in immigration, because of their clout in the world wide economy. The United States should stop illegal immigration because housing illegal immigrants raises taxes, brings more crime and brings more disease.
Stopping illegal immigration into the United States will help lower American taxes. According to AMAC “In 2010, the average unlawful immigrant household received around $24,721 in government benefits and services while paying some $10,334 in taxes. This generated an average annual fiscal deficit (benefits received minus taxes paid) of around $14,387 per household.” Illegal immigrants receiving handouts from the government results in increased taxes for legal citizens. Legal citizens should not be punished by having to bear the cost of these illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants increase crime rates when they come into the United States. According to Immigration Impact, “Legal status and citizenship enable undocumented immigrants to produce and earn significantly more than they do when they are on the economic sidelines.” This premise is wrong; all the U.S. cares about is money, how to get more money, and where to get more money. One of the easiest ways for them to generate money is to legalize illegals and not worry about the repercussions.
