Why should people vote?
Being able to vote is very important. Voting helps us express our voice. Many people in our community gained help by voting and have gotten more rights as well. Voting is a way of expressing our thoughts. By voting we let our leaders know what we want, need, approve or disapprove of such as recreation centers, school regulations and also entertainment areas, when we vote it gives us a sense of freedom, knowing that we have rights that maybe other people in other parts of the world don’t have. By voting we can get more funding for school organizations and community constructions. As our government sees how we vote they send more federal and state grants and they also become aware that our city is active and is interested in bettering our surroundings.
In every election we must practice the right to vote. If we vote in every election even if it’s just a simple one, others get to know what we think. If voting is a privilege why not use it. Voting is one way we as individuals can show good citizenship and civil responsibility.
Voting in free elections should not be ignored or taken lightly. Millions of people in the U.S and around the world have fought and even died for the right to vote. Should their sacrifices just fade away into some distant memory?
No matter how much a person feels their single vote does not count, they are dead wrong. A good example is when John F Kennedy won the presidential election of 1960, by one vote per election in 12 states. If every person believes that his or her vote doesn’t matter the volume of non voters will destroy the democratic process and our community will have no power over choosing our president, we will be risking ourselves for an oppressive character in charge like Mitt Romney.
In conclusion, everyone should recognize the importance of voting and vote. Rather than just sit back and complain when what the government does isn’t in your best interest. To
