Why keep the minimum legal drinking age(MLDA) at 21? With the MLDA at 21 it is not bringing anyone under the age of 21 consuming alcohol to a halt. The most popular beverage to compliment a night out partying or a fancy dinner is some kind of alcoholic drink. When young adults are looking to have a drink the MLDA 21 encourages them to find away around the law. In 2014 93.2% of high school students have bent the law to have a drink welcoming adulthood. With that, lowering the drinking age to 18 will decrease the amount of physically and mentally fatal accidents. Notably, 18 is the legal age for many outlines in the U.S. Why not for the age of alcohol consumption. 18 is the age of legally becoming a citizen of America. Actually, due to young adults not legally allowed to drink, causes bending of other laws. Specifically, 1.0% underage drinkers have faked an id to get these beverages that have been forbidden from them. If the law does not deprive these young adults of alcohol consumption then fewer laws will bent. Furthermore, there is a higher tendency for adults to binge drink. Many people over the age 0f 21 increase on binge drinking. As for, 26.5% of Americans ages 25-34 binge drink. Due to binge drinking there are many household problems. Due to the adults in the households with alcoholics there is an increase of conflict including arguing, fighting and sometimes physical abuse. Children of very young ages living with an alcoholic often experience nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting), separation anxiety, frequent nightmares, crying or problems with becoming unusually upset. Children of older ages living with an alcoholic often start to see depression and obsessiveness. As a final point, the drinking age should be lowered to 18. According to the law when you turn 18 you are a legal adult therefore, when you turn 18 you should welcome the days of becoming an adult with an alcoholic
