Many people think that Tupelo is just a random city in the middle of Mississippi, but what they may not know is that it is one of the most interesting cities in all of America. One of the, if not the most popular person from Tupelo, is the rock and roll king himself, Elvis Presley. He has had many feats over the years that has made him into who he was and he is one of the reasons that Tupelo is on the map. He was born on January 8, 1935 in an old 2 room house. He had a twin named Jessie, but he died shortly after the birth (“Elvis Early Childhood”) Another interesting person from Tupelo, MS is Thomas Wesley Pentz, AKA Diplo. He was born on November 10, 1978. He eventually put Tupelo back on the map after the reign of the rock and roll king started to fall. Diplo put it back on the map with his famous DJing. On of them that is a great example of both, is Elvis Presley’s original two roomed home. Since he has died, the home has been turned into a museum. Another interesting place within Tupelo is the Automobile Museum. This is one of the many museums in Tupelo, MS. Almost all of the museums take hours to go through and are filled with some of the most interesting information about Tupelo that a person could find. (‘Tupelo MS”). One of the coolest and most historical places to visit in Tupelo is one of the battlegrounds of one of the wars.
