The Revolutionary War was fought because back in the 1700s, the British had taxed the colonists. The colonists grew angry at this, and they started to tar and feather the tax collectors. This is the war that was fought because of taxes, which made the colonists angry at the British, and had many battles from 1775 to 1783.
