Depending on what time of day it is could mean you could go to prison. If it's late in the day the judge and jury could be ready to go home so they are willing to decide you are guilty just so they can leave sooner. If our justice system was more eye for an eye then whatever the person did if they were proven guilty the same thing would happen to them. If you look trashy or homeless some people might think you don't know your rights and they could try to take advantage you not knowing. And if they are just looking for a conviction then you could go to jail for something you didn't do. So depending on what they did it might not be to bad but it would be better than spending time in prison for someone else's mistake.
Another factor is who you know or how much money you have. If your family is a judge and they get your case they could take it easy on you. And if your family has money they could try to buyout the judge for him to maybe give you a shorter sentence. If we didn't have this kind of justice system then he wouldn't be going to jail and the family couldn't buy off the judge because whatever he did would be done to
