Why Is Soccer Important To Me Essay
There’s an unspoken bond between teammates who share burning calves accompanying “Fitness Fridays”, bittersweet three hour bus rides on Tuesday nights, glorious wins, and unforgettable loses. After ten years of playing the same sport, and being captain for three of those, it’s not surprising that soccer has become a huge part of my life that has taught me concepts school never could. Without soccer, I would’ve never experienced the immense impact a group of girls could have on me, especially the season of my senior year. Our team goal was to win the state championships, but along the way something more beautiful happened. We not only became a team, but a family that genuinely believed in each other and our ability to storm Rio Tinto stadium

Sectionalism is a division within a country based on regional beliefs and interests. In the early to mid 1800’s, sectionalism in America grew as slavery divided in the Nation. Slavery was ignored, compromised, and argues about but the states until the conflict drove our country in the Civil War. Although regional differences are not distinct these days, many issues are currently causing division among the states and people of our country. These issues lead to what our history class describes as “modern sectionalism.” One such issue is to care more about soccer in Iowa Falls.…

As my childhood gradually transitioned into my adolescent years, I was old enough to realize my dreams of becoming a professional athlete wouldn’t serve as a career path. By the time middle school rolled around, I slowly narrowed down by ambitious list of activities to the one I was most passionate about: soccer. Through the first awkward relationships, real homework assignments and horrifying threat of detentions, soccer was always something I could look forward to.…

This is my second year on the Peabody Magnet High Soccer team, and I was even awarded the Coach’s award for playing midfield and made honorably mention in my district ranking. I also am the Co-Captain of the Peabody Flag line. Being on the soccer and flag teams taught me that hard work really pays off and really forced me to challenge myself. When the flag line first started, we did not have a coach or experience. Although we taught ourselves our own routines, techniques and twirls; we placed and won a 3rd place trophy in our first battle of the bands competition. It was the smallest trophy there, but it meant more to me than any big one could. It just proved to me again that if I put my mind to something I could accomplish…

There are over seven billion people on this Earth, so what is it that makes me so different? I wear Nike, I drive a car, I play video games, I have chores, and could be considered a pretty normal person. I love, I laugh, I get angry, and I have emotions just like every other human being. The one thing I heavily identify with is football. For as long as I can remember I’ve played ball, and made some great friends along the way. The picture in the top left is a great representation of this. Football has taught me lessons of leadership, perseverance, toughness, how to deal with the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. (Bottom left: aftermath of beating Staley) Above all else, the best thing it has taught me was loyalty. Not only loyalty to a cause, but loyalty to my brothers, and ultimately my family. Football has created a foundation for my character, and without it I am certain I would not be the same person I am today.…

My life has revolved around soccer since I was four years old. My whole family was born into the sport and I’m so thankful that I have the support from my family and friends to continue to follow my dream in playing college soccer. I believe my life would not be the same without participating in the sport I love and playing with the people I grew up with. I wouldn’t have met half the people I know now. All my teammate’s families that treat me like their family would have been just imaginary. I wouldn’t have a second family to fall back on when I need. Soccer had made me for who I am. The reason I’m so competed and driven is because of the game. Soccer has helped me become a responsible hardworking young adult that doesn’t like to fail. My never-quit…

Even though this devastated my entire family my mom never putted her head down and played both roles at home. It was difficult to get over It, but I was able to refuge myself on the soccer fields and get away from the streets ,alcohol, and drugs something that any other kid at age of twelve would have done in those days. Children tend to go out for sports to make friends, improve relationships, become better at the sport, and to stay in shape. No matter what the reason is when you join the sport, you will find out that you gained numerous friends over the course of the season. As every sports season comes around the corner, you can visualize how close people on the same teams grow. At our high school, people eat with their teams, lift with their teams, practice with their teams, and play with their teams. The environment is set up to create friendships. Being a senior in high school, I have had the opportunity to participate in multiple team sports. Throughout my high school experience, I have noticed is that the teams who grow the closest, have the greatest success. One piece of evidence is our soccer team. When I came into high school, we had the opportunity to meet new coaches. Coach Garza and Coach Javi, the soccer coaches, are no doubt, the best coaches I have ever had the chance to be taught by. They both possess the rare trait of being able to bond kids together. The soccer team I am on has the strongest bond I have ever seen. Since I joined the team as a freshman, we have made two consecutive state trips, which were the first and second in school history. We also achieved the runner-up status in the championship game. If there were one trait I could relate our success to, it would be the bond we share as a…

Quotes like this help me a lot when I’m playing soccer, especially during a soccer game. This quote is a perfect example of a soccer tournament that my soccer team and I had participated in. For this tournament, we went to Madison and the tournament was called Madison Rush Spring Classic 2015. In this tournament, there were two brackets and my team was in Bracket B. In my bracket, the teams were Croatian Eagles Red U12G (my team), Verona SC U13G, Monona Grove SC Cobras, and Rush McFarland U12.…

From the time I was a young child, I was taught the importance of hard work and dedication. Up to this point, I have lived by these principles, incorporating them into every aspect of my life. Although this determination has proved useful in many circumstances, it has been most apparent in my one true passion: soccer. I have put my heart and soul into the sport since the moment my five-year-old feet first touched a ball. Now I believe that growing up is about making decisions that one’s former self would have been much too frightened or intimidated by to follow through with. In some cases, it is having enough of a backbone to avoid being walked upon by those who think that they have a right to do so, no matter the repercussions. That is why that, in my opinion, the moment that I quit the Seneca Valley Varsity Soccer team was the moment that I finalized my transition from childhood to adulthood.…

I remember when I was five, I would always attend my step sister’s soccer games during the weekend while at my dad’s. I would always love to watch but I was more of a hands on person. I have always wanted to play soccer but unfortunately it was harder to do for a kid, like me, when I had divorced parents that lived 40 minutes away from each other. It was so hard because usually when it came to soccer, the games would be during the weekend and practices would be a few days during the week. Finally, after my sophomore year I decided to try again and play for my school.…

The team got together the next week for the yearly season ending party. I walked into my coaches house with guilt still hanging on my shoulders. To my surprise though, no one seemed to be mad at me, even when I had lost us the game, and they had to be upset about not winning the championship title. When our captain had started to organize teams for a little kick-around session, I realized why no one was disappointed at me, or in general for that matter. It was possibly the pressure of winning or the excitement that I might finally live up to my sister’s standards, but somewhere along the way I had forgotten why my teammates and I played soccer in the first place. Although it would have been great, it wasn’t to gain a tournament title or win the game. It was because we all shared the love of the game. I didn’t need to receive a trophy or even come out with an underdog win to have fun playing soccer with some of my closest friends, but apparently I needed to freeze up to remember…
