Why Is Sherlock Simpsons Wrong
Have you ever stolen anything? Come on, you have done it before! Well, I know for sure that I have stolen something and I received some big consequences for doing it. Sherlock Holmes is a detective and he is on a case about Ryder, a criminal, and Ms. Cusack, Ryder’s apprentice or, companion, and they stole a Carbuncle. A Carbuncle is an expensive jewel that belonged to the Countess. Holmes eventually finds out who had stolen the jewel and stuffed it into a goose. I know right? A goose! Sherlock ends up letting Ryder and Cusack free. In my opinion, Sherlock Holmes positively made the wrong decision. In the first place, I believe that Holmes did wrong was Ryder still tried to steal the Carbuncle so he should be …show more content…
The word is also used as a familiar term for some crimes against property, such as burglary, embezzlement, larceny, looting, robbery, shoplifting, fraud, prowling, mugging, and sometimes criminal adaptation. Ryder and Cusack should have been put in jail for what they have done. It is not fair to the other people. Yes, if they go to jail for their crime, they might have a chance of being pulled into another crime and sent back to jail for something they didn’t do. At least they are paying the time for the crime. They still didn’t pay the time, so obviously they didn’t learn their lesson. They will probably be released out the next day or two and steal another thing because that is what people who steal do. Since Ryder and Cusack ducked away with the misconduct, they will think they might slip away with any crime so they will commit another one and another one until they get caught. Take my facts and put them into play so next time if anyone is thinking of doing anything of the above, just remember the penalties that will be given for what has been

The crime of larceny was developed to punish the taking of property in nonviolent face-to-face encounters, and to set it apart from Robbery. Robbery involved some measure of violence in connection with theft, and the courts did not feel that a nonviolent theft should warrant the same punishment. Larceny was nevertheless punished severely. A person convicted of larceny could receive the death penalty or be sentenced to many years in prison.…

I belive that your punishment should also be ruthless. Also, law 23 states, “If the robber is not caught, the man who has been robbed shall formally declare whatever he has lost before a god, and the city and the mayor in whose territory or district the robbery has been committed shall replace for him whatever he has lost”. I belive that is also fair because, if you have lost something, you should be replaced of it. That is my beliefs of property law fairness.…

Larceny is “the unlawful taking of personal property with intent to deprive the rightful owner of it permanently”, defined by the Merriam - Webster dictionary. There are different levels of larceny. There is Grand Larceny which is usually defined as theft of a more significant amount of property. In the United States it is often defined as items or currency that is valued as $400 or more. In New York grand larceny applies to amounts of $1000 or more. Grand larceny is classified as a Class A felony. To bluntly say it, larceny is stealing from others. No matter what the motives or reasons behind stealing are, it is still wrong. I imagine there are a million of motives for someone to convince himself or herself that it is worth the risk to steal something. Some other people might also not have the conscience to feel wrong for stealing. A large part of this is because people do not understand who or what they are harming when they steal. Most people don’t care and only worry about their problems. Even after being caught someone might only feel bad for himself or herself.…

The types of crime had more widespread dangers to civil society both in term of human cost and tax dollar, is White collar and which had more extensive consequences. Professor Edwin Hardin Sutherland (1949) was the first to coin the term, and hypothesize white-collar criminals attributed different characteristics and motives than typical street criminals. White collar is a financial motivated, economic, non violent crime committed for illegal monetary gain as a crime committed by a person of respectability and high social status in the course of his occupation. For instance, one of the most notorious corporate crimes was committed by Ford executives in Houston kept faulty Firestone tires on their Explores that cost the lives of 200 people, and not one executive spent even a single day in jail. As a general rule, crime involves combination of act and criminal intent. A crime is committed when it is acted upon with a criminal intent. An act of crime without a criminal intent is not a crime. Once an idea of a crime has been communicated and planned out it is considered a conspiracy. A conspiracy is a crime. The crime is justified due to the fact that both Jack and Mary planned the robbery. They both agreed to rob the bank. This is also known as a specific intent crime. When a crime has a specific intent the specific intent must be proved beyond reasonable doubt. In a burglary prosecution there must be proof of intent to commit burglary. In the case that they had been arrested, I would assume that there was evidence to prove the intent of their robbery spree.…

Today, the definition of white-collar crime has been expanded to include much more than “upper class criminals.” White Collar Crime can be defined as “an offense carried out by non-coercive, nonviolent means, and using or utilizing an acquired skill or technology to perpetuate a fraudulent scheme” (Rosoff 15).…
