Why Is Macbeth Destined For Greatness
Book Review : Macbeth In the one of Shakespeare's famous play, Twelfth Night, he mentions, "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." However, Shakespeare himself did not seem to be destined for greatness; he was not born into a family with nobility or stature nor did he continue his studies. Nevertheless, his talents as an actor and playwright brought upon success. William Shakespeare, was born in Elizabethan England during the sixteenth century. He is an English playwright, poet and actor, who is considered to be one of literature's greatest influences and dramatist of all time. Shakespeare was incredibly innovative with his writing and he had his own style of writing. His style of writing includes the traditional style, which is created by the free flowing of words. The compositions of his plays usually consisted of metrical patterns or blank verses. One of Shakespeare's famous works include Macbeth, a play that falls into the category of tragedy.

Encouraged by his wife, Lady Macbeth, Macbeth attempts to eliminate all and any obstacles that prevent him from being king. These obstacles are often the other characters in the play. He accepts the prophecies that the three witches have given him and he uses it as a guide, and misinterprets what they tell him. In the end, Macbeth's overconfidence leads him to his own death by believing the second set of prophecies.
