Why Is John F Kennedy A Good Role Model
We all have a role model a we look up to and admire. Whether it is their personality, accomplishments, or life story that enthralls us, we can always relate to them and sometimes even want to be like them. For me this person was one of our past presidents, a man who did not lead the best life but when he had to make a decision for our country he made it firmly and stood with the results. This hero was John Fitzgerald Kennedy and if I could choose to live as him for one day I definitely would. John F. Kennedy grew up in Massachusetts to a well-to-do family and influential grandparents. However, Kennedy wanted to become better, to do more, and to challenge himself. Kennedy had many medical problems when growing up such as chronic lower back problems. However he wanted to be able to lead a good life so he exercised and was finally able to enter the Navy. Kennedy won and started to think of how help his constituents more. He learned about their needs, visited and talked to them and soon ran for Senator. Kennedy became the first Catholic Senator from Massachusetts and soon gained popularity as he talked more and more about important issues. In 1961, Kennedy became the 35th President of the United States. John Fitzgerald Kennedy was able to channel all of his beliefs into that position and worked hard to further the work of America and Americans. He and his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy donated and worked for charitable causes and brought unity among the American people. However in 1963, he was assassinated in Dallas and the mystery still has not been completely solved. Kennedy’s work in the advancement of the US and his humanitarian service inspires me and makes me want to be more like him. His compassion and grit are traits that I work to have so I become a better
