Why Is Chivalry So Important To You Essay
Some may ask what chivalry is. Chivalry is defined as the qualities expected of an ideal knight, those like courage, honor, courtesy, etc. Personally, we all have our own code of chivalry. I possess many values in my life and I believe they have made me the person I am today, and I will continue to carry on these values my whole life. Just a few of these values are honesty, appreciation, and integrity. Honesty is one of my values, and in fact is one of the most important one out of my values. Why you may ask. Well when I was younger I was pretty ornery, just ask anyone. I thought I could get out of things by telling a little white lie, but we all have to learn the hard way with some things, right? This is something that I had to learn from the hard way. Teachers talk to parents, at the time I didn’t know that, but I found out. My parents sat me down and talked to me and told me to just be honest and they wouldn’t be as mad next time around. The older I got, I learned that just being honest about something small or something big can save you a lot of grief.

It feels so good to be appreciated for what you do for people, I don’t think anyone could argue with me there. But a little appreciation goes a long way. Just taking a moment to say a simple “thank you” whether it be your server at a restaurant or to your parents for everything they do for you. I started appreciating things more when someone I called a very close friend didn’t appreciate the things I did. It didn’t make me want to become a bitter person instead it made me want to become a better person and made me appreciate the little and the big things people did for me. It changed me into the person I am today, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that experience I had to go through even though it meant losing a friend. So next time make it a goal to say thank you to someone just for something small, because it could turn their day
