Why Is Censorship Bad In Schools
Censorship seems to be over used in the united states of america, censorship would be a good thing if it was used when needed instead of being used for unnecessary reasons. Men and women expect censorship to take over their jobs of being parents and protect their children from the harmful things in life, Doing that is not the government's job.

Men and women look at censorship as if it is just there to stop them from seeing/hearing certain things. Censorship has a deeper meaning than just not letting men women and children hear and see certain things, censorship is here for the “the suppression of ideas and information that certain persons-individuals, groups or officials-- find objectionable or dangerous” .

Censorship protects people from life which makes people ignorant. To many anti censorship people censorship is hiding the people's idea which the first amendment gives the citizens of the united states of america the freedom of expression, but by censoring what people say is that or is it not taking away your freedom of expression? When something is said it is said for a reason censorship needs to be taken away it is stopping men and women from learning all that they need to.

Although I don’t agree with most forms of censorship, I feel as if it is important in certain situations. For instance, television must be censored because all age groups watch it, and it influences younger children’s behavior because they have seen it on television. Not to mention anyone at any time can watch TV. Whereas censoring books is completely different. The reader has the option to read the book, making the author not reliable. Not just any age group can pick up a book and begin to read the content. But a six-month-old baby can sit in front of a television and be influenced by the action of a criminal. Certain things influence certain age groups and I feel as if books shouldn’t be responsible. You have to actually read a book; you cannot just sit and watch the pages. I feel as if censorship should appeal to only things that require it, and in my opinion, books do not require censorship.…

There could be many reasons why people have to need to censor, and it usually depends on the type of government a certain country has and the type of citizens they have. And by type I mean by their race, religion, what they are interested in, what they do as a career, etc. A good example of this situation could be the book “Fahrenheit 451”. Besides from comic books and pornography, every single type of books are censored, from the religious texts to the fiction chapter books. Although books are the main things that are censored from this society, but without books, many other things have changed. Things such as it is illegal to be a pedestrian because people don’t have time to drive slowly and stop for others, therefore people drive really fast and if someone is pedestrian, they could get run over.…

Censorship is the prohibition of any parts of books, movies, etc. that are considered unacceptable in society. There are some times where it is needed little, and also times where it is not needed at all. And even the times it is needed, it is not needed to the extent that it is used. There are very many ways censorship is bad for this country, and very few ways it is actually needed. Censorship in the knowledge of other countries, censorship from the government, censorship in technology, and censorship in learning are just few ways censorship is misused in the U.S. Everyone knows, as well as the pro-censorship believers, that censorship is misused in some areas. And that other areas it is not needed at all. Anyone that is pro-censorship knows well enough that it is wrong, the way it is misused. To close my argument i would like to point out the fact that pro-censorship believers have no real reason behind why it is a good thing, and cannot prove wrong that it is bad for not only children, but everyone in america. Now, i would like to resm my case by again saying to simply look into the negatives and positives of censorship, and see which one outweighs the…

Censorship violates humanity's natural autonomy in that it denies an individual an uninfluenced choice in formulating his or her beliefs. Even if the most intelligent human beings are very sure in respect to the truth of an idea, it is wrong for certain individuals to deny other individuals the opportunity to come to a decision themselves. Censorship is wrong because it disregards humanity's basic rational nature and its ability to critically evaluate complex ideas. In effect, censorship is unacceptable because it refuses to recognize another human being's intelligence and free will.…

To censor is to ban or cut portions of a publication, film, letter, etc. For as long as literature has existed, so has censorship. Forms of censorship include banning and burning books and editing previously published literature. Who is to decide what books should be accessible? Today, certain people are entrusted with the task of reading books and deciding whether the offensive material outweighs the educational value. Is this really acceptable? Censorship of books is in no way beneficial to society. Censoring books in schools and libraries takes away the peoples choice. All forms of literary censorship violate the first amendment right to freedom of speech, and therefore are harmful to society.…

The U.S. Constitution says that everyone that is an American citizen has the right of free speech. You can find censorship almost anywhere around you. It’s in music, television, and even literature. I don’t believe that it is fair that there be some much censorship in a country that does nothing but promise freedom to all its occupants. It is said that suppression of all of these things helps to prevent the crimes that occur. However even with all of the restrictions, there are still people murdering and stealing. America was founded on freedom. Why should the government censor the motion picture industry, the…

While in the other hand, there is the fact that censoring a…
