Why I Want To Be An American Dream Essay
Every citizen should have equal opportunity to achieve sucess no matter how they look, who they are, or what they believe.This is the doctrine behind the American Dream. That everyone should have the equal chance of being successful. This dream is what makes America so different from other countries and nations—this is the one thing that America promises that other countries can’t and I will take advantage of that opportunity by pursuing higher education.
I am pursuing a degree in Mathematics, and would like to become a Computer Programmer and become involved in the Technology/Computer Science field after college. I would like to sit in an environment full of other people who enjoy and find technology and coding as interesting as I do. People who would encourage me and could introduce me to other people so that I could network. I would like everyday at my job to be a learning experience and a place where I have ample opportunity and resources to grow both as a programmer and person. I envision myself writing code for programs beneficial to the community I would work in, something that could possibly make a difference. I, as an African American woman could influence others that it works, because I would have equal opportunity for success—as promised and is the underlying concept of the American dream—in a country where oppression against minorities is now becoming an even more pressing and alert issue. My education would serve as blatant proof of the amount of resources and opportunities that we, as American citizens, are given in light and acknowledgement of us achieving and striving for
