Why I Want To Be A Nurse Practitioner Essay
Nurse Practitioner Nurses Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced training and education; they work in conjunction with physicians in caring for patients. The hours they work can vary depending on the patient and health care facilities. Their long hour range from ten, twelve, or twenty-four hour shifts. It takes four years in a registered nurse program and a two year practitioner program in order to become a nurse practitioner. Their duties are to take care of minor illnesses such as colds and sprains. Nurse practitioners have many responsibilities, educational requirements, and a flexible profession. One of many duties nurse practitioners perform is provide health care to different ages. They make sure their patient is doing well.The age range is new born to elderly. There are different nurse practitioners such as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, and others. Some duties for the childhood are well-child exams, school physicals, and childhood immunizations. They help families learn about disease prevention and refer them to the specialists needed for their health. Some other things they focus on are geriatrics, mental health, or mental medicine. Each type of nurse practitioners haves different duties but just depends if that person decides to work with just one age range. Another …show more content…
To be able to advance education, certification, and work experiences in more than one area. The career requires learning throughout it because things can change. Having different classes can help you in different areas and levels of being a nurse practitioner. Some patients need special treatments and before helping them you will need to take a program to start helping them. It is very important to be updated with the tests and programs so you can know what changed. The tests are to know what you know, learned, and what you need help

    I would love to be a nurse someday because it has many attractive qualities. The qualities that accompany The field of nursing and which i consider essential to me include the scientific aspect to method, being an active member of the health care team, and becoming a patient advocate. When I was thirteen, I saw all different kinds of people in poverty, may it be infants, children, elderly people and even disabled people. My aunt, who lived in Mexico, got diagnosed with cancer and my family and I moved to Santa Maria Del Oro, Jalisco. It is a very small town located in central-western Mexico where poverty is very evident. My family and I stayed there for two months and everyday I would see people on the streets begging others for money just so they could treat their ailing relatives. I remember when I saw them, I felt so weak. I wanted to help them, yet I didn’t know how since I was just a child. When we came back to the states I realized health care is truly the path for me. It made me realize how other countries like Mexico are in great need of health services and made me more aware of the situation. Seeing the poverty and lack of good health care gave me more than the desire to become a nurse, it gave me the passion and determination to one day achieve that career.…
