To be an Nuclear Technician you have to have an Associate's Degree, but other than you don’t need much education. Algebra, Trigonometry, Circuits, Fluids, Mechanic Properties, and reactivity are also things that would be nice to know, but are not mandatory. Any fields that deal with science or math are helpful. To have this as a career you have to have common sense and general knowledge.

There are not many people in this market so working 50-60 hours a week should be allowed upon request. Also, most Nuclear Technicians jobs are 24/7 so you may get a schedule to fit yours. Which is decently good especially if you get this job out of college. It’s enough to live a comfortable life and to supply for your family.
It looks like from recent studies most of the Nuclear Technician field are getting more and more jobs opening as we speak.
