My mother suffered from Preeclampsia when she was pregnant with me. I was born not breathing and blue. There was a village of caring people that brought me back. My mom and dad told me about how the nursing team came together in complete unity to bring me back. It was their unfailing care and dedication that makes me want to be a part of the amazing journey to be a caring nurse….just like them.

This class would help me obtain my long term goals into becoming a neonatal nurse. The job would be very challenging but rewarding. I would love working with little people until they are discharged and helping not only the infants but their parents also. While I’m in college I want to work as a CNA part time not only to help me learn more about patient care but to help me financially.

I will contribute to the CNA program because I always think about trying to find the best possible outcome. I am proactive, I want to find the best solution as efficiently as I can. I know I can contribute with my peers and colleagues with the knowledge I have gained from taking

I hope to be a neonatal nurse. To aspire this goal, I will attend a four year college that offers pre-med opportunities as well as access to early internships. After graduation, I plan to apply to a med school in Oregon or California. The reason I plan to be a neonatal nurse has to do with the fact I want to make a change in someone's life. When I was eight years old, my baby brother was born premature due to the use of drugs. He was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for three months. He is now ten years old and has a weak immune system. My aunt, who is like a mother to me, had a checkup a week prior to her due date and found out that her baby had lost four pounds. My baby cousin is now nine months old and healthy. Seeing these kids…

Being in the medical field for the past ten years, I have seen the growth and changes in the medical field. When I began my nursing career as a medical assistant, I noticed many other nurses continuing their education to be able to have greater hands on approach in nursing. This opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that a nurse can do, whether it’s with direct patient care or being a resource to patients and other nurses around. After completing my RN in May of 2015, I decided that I really enjoyed being a mentor and teacher to other nurses. That is why I am continuing on with my education in hopes to one day receive my Master’s degree in Nursing and be able to utilize the knowledge and skills that I build, to educate patients. I still…

The decision to go into health care was an easy decision for me. It started with the birth of my cusin, he was born premature. He weighed two pounds 13 ounces; he needed specialized care which was provided by neonatal nurses. Neonatal nursing is a relatively new specialty by comparison to adult health, midwifery, or other areas of nursing. Because it is new, there are great opportunities for nurses to devote their skills to newborns who need specialized care. Neonatal refers to the first 28 days of life. Neonatal care, as known in specialized nurseries or intensive care, has been around since the 1960's (AACN, 2010). I was in awe of how they cared for my cusin. When it was time for my cusin to be released I knew I wanted to be a nurse. With life you never know what is coming your way, I did not pursue the field because life happened got married and had three more children. I did not forget that I wanted to be a nurse just couldn’t get it in my grasp.…

Hello everyone, My name is John Santiesteban and I’m currently a nurse. I am attending this class in order for me to achieve my masters in nursing. My enthusiasm for nursing first took root and flourished after losing my father. My father became very ill and needed medical care. When I saw that my father was starting to become weak and frail, I thought to myself "What access would my father have to good quality health care?" I asked my mother "Where is the nearest hospital?" and my mother replied, "It's about twenty miles away child." It was from that moment on I began to realize a desire to engage in a profession that focused on the area of helping sick people. After losing my father I made the initiative to start a new direction in my life to pursue a career in healthcare. So I decided to become a surgical tech to test my interest. After completing my certification, I was able to do a lot of hands-on work with sick…

People consider me as a caring, patient, friendly, and responsible person. I am very energetic; whenever I start working on something I never want to give up. I have a passion for becoming a nurse since I enjoy helping people around me. I get along with others very well, which make me always being cooperative with my co-workers and work with them toward a share goal. I graduated from Highline Community College last year with honor degree. Even though I already obtained my AA degree in Pre-Nursing, gaining my knowledge in the medical field is not enough for me. I want to gain more clinical patient experience and help people with all my heart. In order to strengthen my clinical experience, I also took the CNA class at Blossom Nursing Assistant Training School while studying at HCC and received the CNA license. Currently, I’m working at Stafford Suites Senior Assisted Living Apartments. I’m very excited about taking a CNA job here, where I can have an opportunity to work with people, especially the elderlies, who need nursing assistant’s help from basic hygiene care. I take very good care of the elderlies and make them feel like home. People here like me a lot and make me feel as if I am one of their family members. In order to further my education, I’m working my way up to earn my 4-year degree in BSN. I hope that I will become a helpful nurse in the future.…

why i want to be a CNA

I don't understand, while being a CNA is hard, it is not rocket science. You basically have to work, and care. So many CNAs don't do either one. I don't know how they go home and sleep knowing that they left their residents soaked, cold, and dirty. Why don't they just go work at a gas station. Very few things make me as angry as when the residents are not getting the care they DESERVE. I want the opportunity every day to make an impact on people's lives in a positive and much needed way. We, future CNA's, get paid for more than simply washing people, making beds and all of the other tasks that go along with the job. We have chosen a profession that demands caring from us. We need to show patience and compassion daily, no matter what. People may think that becoming a CNA is a job just anyone can do. This is not true! It takes a certain type of person to do the work of a nursing assistant. I am proud to be a Future CNA! Yes, I may become "only a CNA" in the eyes of some people, but to others I will be much more.…
