1) Poverty has many faces, changing from place to place and across time, and has been define in many different ways. In What is poverty, by “Jo Goodwin Parker” discusses how a poor man survive in poverty. One of the main problem is this article I found is that government does not support poor people. They came to people to get vote but they don’t give their citizen right. In this case this poor guy had no support whatsoever. When his wife was in hospital he had to take care of children and home. He was totally helpless. In short, if you have money everyone is on your side. In addition, poverty come from family, and people don’t want to change. They think if it’s come from family then it should stay with them. In this article, poor children were isolated. No one was even playing with them. Everyone was thinking that they are poor, so they must be doing something bad such as selling drugs. Unfortunately, poverty is often invisible problems. The voice of poor are rarely hear. Physical health, strength and appearance are great importance to poor. to sum it up, poverty is powerlessness, lack of freedom.
