Why Do We Use Images Of War?
Military imagery plays an important role in scientific, factual, legal, artistic, and advertising culture. Images of war plays a part of our lives. Learning about past events helps us not make the same mistakes in the future. We are able to learn about war by the images that are presented to us. We take news and history books about war to create this image of how we see it. War can be looked at in the sense of very heroic and glorified while also be presented with the truth with the terrible events of what has happened and the loss of lives. With war we tend to not think of it affecting a part of science. War also plays a part in laws. We would not be having war if disagreements between two parties did not happened. War plays a part in funding countries. During war increase of jobs and needing help to provide for war happens. Providing for military and funding for new weapons happens. Different medicines were founded during war. Most of what we know today was founded during …show more content…
With news and history books we are able to learn about war and how it affects our lives. With news we are presented with an image of war with how the news wants us to view events. Some images of war we do not learn the truth til later on when the media does not twist the views just to gain viewers. Military events are shown as brave and heroic for the winning side. We rarely see the effects it has on the losing side till after the battle is won. Images that are taken play an important part of history. Many images of events are seen as iconic. Images of such as Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima have been used and recreated for advertising and different memorials. Photographs of events can be served as reminders to learn from our mistakes and not have war happen again. These images can also be used to add an emotional feel to war.
