Why Do We Need One Discriminate Against One Another?
In today’s world, racism is a world wide problem that has been continually arising into a serious predicament over the past couple of years. Racism can be defined as the belief that a certain race is superior or inferior to another, that every race obtains a definite characteristic or ability of that race, and that some races are highly better than others. Racism has been around for as long as we can remember from the slavery in America to the discrimination against the Middle East targeted as “terrorists” today. Why is it that our own kind discriminate against one another? From what I have witnessed throughout the media is that those who discriminate against a racial group is due to their ignorance and lack of knowledge. What makes it the right to hate one another due to our race? Are we really that different from one another? In fact, the only difference that is visible to all is the color of our skin and nothing more. We all deserve to be treated equally no matter our background, skin color, and most importantly race. …show more content…
From when I heard the negatives about my race from others saying that, “Mexicans need to go back to their own country where they came from” to my fellow classmates talking about how those with darker skin tones are looked as “weird”. This led me into thinking the irony between how individuals judge those based on color when in reality under our own skin we are all the exact same, skeletons.
